This video is horrific to see. A head trainer viciously attacks Becky, the elephant, with a bullhook (a "training" tool that resembles a fireplace poker) while she screams in pain, enduring severe stress and trauma from her bloody, painful wounds. We often report on the cruel treatment of these majestic elephants at places around the globe, but today's story is happening right here in the United States. Make an impact on the lives of animals suffering just like Becky the elephant when you generously donate today!   The Endangered Ark Foundation in Oklahoma touts itself as a "retirement ranch" built to provide comfortable accomodations for elephants formerly from circuses, but unfortunately, this advertising is deceptive and designed to drive ticket sales. True sanctuaries solely provide care and relief for animals who cannot be safely returned to the wild, do not allow direct contact with humans, and provide the animals as close to the freedom they would experience in their wild home as possible. But, Endangered Ark promotes encounters with elephants where they are forced to make art and interact with humans.   I know you believe that all wild animals deserve a wild life.      Help us keep wild animals where they belong. Donate Now   Endangered Ark has been cited multiple times for failure to provide adequate veterinary care, several types of animal cruelty, and repeated incidents where visitors and staff have sustained serious and life-threatening injuries and even death. Not only are they receiving elephants from the cruel circus world and continuing to subject them to brutal torture by using them for exhibition, they are now breeding these intelligent animals to continue to be used in their venue as entertainment, trapping them, in a cycle of cruelty and abuse.   Venues like Endangered Ark are why we are calling on Groupon to immediately cease partnerships with wildlife exploiters and adopt a wildlife-friendly policy that no longer promotes discounted ticket sales to exploitative venues.
