As soon as I received a message with the text above, I got into the #HopeForPaws rescue vehicle and drove up north. A one-hundred-pound nervous dog that can't see you may overcompensate and react in a dangerous way. I was alone on that rescue, so that added another layer of challenges. She wandered up to someone’s house, pleading for help! What she was going through was a nightmare! Meet Phoenix. We received a notification via one of our fosters about a pup that was in desperate need of our help. Early that morning she had wandered up to someone’s house begging for help. We jumped into action. The smell was horrible. She had been set on fire. Our medical director said you could smell the accelerant on her and when she got her in the car it permeated everything. We rushed her to Callaghan Road Animal Hospital as fast as we could. She has open wounds that appear to be consistent with being in a kennel and breaking out to get away from the pain of burning. Our vet says that the skin on her head and down her back is necrotic and will slough off due to the damage.

As he approached, he realized that the dog was frozen and unable to move. Galina got off his bike and walked towards the dog, who looked up at him with pleading eyes. As Galina approached, the dog tried to crawl towards him, crying out in pain. The dog's fur was matted and she was shivering from the cold. She tried to crawl to the car door, but she immediately collapsed from exhaustion. She had no strength left after being in pain for hours. Perhaps, she has just experienced moments of unhappiness, she is very sad. For weeks, she couldn't get out... The dog is so sick, there's nothing to eat... So she ate whatever she could find in that dirty, cramped room. She even eats her own poop... Currently, the dog is exhausted... Coco is just skin and bones... I don't want her to close her eyes... We are afraid she will leave us forever... Do your best, Coco! Fear Had Covered His Soul, He Couldn't Raise His Head, He Didn't Even Glance At Us, No Longer Able When this photo came to us, we cried a lot...It makes us angry, we feel helpless, The dog was tied up day and night without receiving any attention. He didn't even glance at us. He is incapable. Fear covered his soul, he did not raise his head. We thought about how many years has this animal lived like this? And when we see the deep sadness in his eyes, we can feel the sadness and pain of it. We are now on our way to the vet. We named him Max. Today this creature will start a new life... A dog cannot be left in a position of abuse, fear, insecurity, or weakness.
