We lost 95k from our retirement this week. I can't retire this year because of this. My husband needs me as he has seizures. This is awful. We had 32 foster kids and worked for the government for most of our adult lives. We worked hard, and our"Prez" robbed our carefully made plans to enjoy our golden years. For his oligarch buddies... i hate tRump.

I'm 70 and can't afford to retire yet. I have to work full-time even with my Social Security to just get by. I'm alone. I don't have a family to turn to. I hope I don't live long under all of this. I went for a test this week and had them scan my DNR. Part of me was disappointed that I had improved. If I wind up with any diagnosis like cancer, I will not seek treatment. No reason to try to get better. Who knows if I could even get the medication to be comfortable while dying.
This set of tariffs is the greatest act of economic self harm ever inflicted by a president on the United States.

I'm protesting in my small town full of people that are poor and vote against their own interests. They think I am the idiot. I hope I'm not the only one, but I refuse to be intimidated by fascists.
I earned less than 50,000 last year I'm a single mom and financially support my aging mom.I work for a non profit as a caregiver. Im struggling to just buy groceries. My chances of PSLF or being able to keep up on my loans have plummeted. I pay a lot for my medical insurance already. How can they do this to sooo many people?
I heard a few hours ago that this horrific budget resolution was passed, and I'm absolutely crushed, and completely terrified... HOW is this being allowed??? HOW are more than 51+ GOP Senators, morally alright with this??? Not to mention, how can anybody in their right mind back this, already knowing what Trump has done with these maniacal tariffs and the stock market??? This will cause such immeasurable pain, suffering, and the unaliving of millions of Americans!!! 
Cutting Medicaid & SNAP won't just "impact" or "make life worse" for millions, it will cause many of us to be unalived. I had my entire life destroyed, and am currently disabled due to a devastating and severe medical condition, caused by a doctor's mistake & incompetence, and was completely financially wiped out by years of dealing with this. I would already be gone now, if it wasn't for finally getting Medicaid, and being approved for supportive care. PLEASE don't let them do this to us. PLEASE continue to stand up against them!!!

I wish I were making this up. Donald Trump just held what may go down as the most disastrous press event in modern American history. I watched it live, and if you care about the future of this country, you should watch my latest report. Because this event wasn’t just bizarre—it was dangerous.
Standing outside the White House like a cartoon villain, Trump proudly announced a 10% baseline tariff on every country in the world (Canada and Mexico currently exempted and being handled separately) and 25% tariffs on all foreign-made automobiles. Then he went country-by-country with a clumsy chart, inventing numbers and butchering trade policy like a deranged game show host. Markets instantly plummeted. The S&P after-hours chart basically turned into a cliff.
He talked about “cheating at the gate,” accused the European Union of robbing us, called Vietnam “great negotiators,” and said Taiwan “took all our semiconductors.” Then he started waxing poetic about the word “groceries.” Yes, groceries. “Such an old-fashioned term.” Huh?!
This isn’t funny. This is the guy who promised prices would go down on Day One. Instead, he’s crashing the economy and triggering inflation with a trade war against the planet. He thinks tariffs are some magic wand, even though history (and economists) agree they’re taxes on the American people. Tariffs hurt the middle class. That’s why we moved to an income tax system in 1913—something Trump seems to think was a global conspiracy against him personally.
He cited 1789 as America’s peak wealth era. Really, 1789? That's when the country didn’t even have electricity, but sure, let’s pretend we were all billionaires churning butter and dying at 40.
Then, of course, he attacked Canada. Because when in doubt, blame the Canadians. He claimed they “screw us” on milk and called them a national security threat—because apparently, Canada’s been the real problem all along.
At the end of his performance, Trump said we’d all look back on this day as “Liberation Day.” Liberation from what? Sanity? Logic? Economic stability?
A CNBC anchor noted following Trump’s announcement: “The market reaction after hours, I've never seen anything like it. This is worse than the worst-case scenario of the tariffs that many in the market expected.”
This is what happens when you put a bankrupt con man in charge of a global economy. The same guy who couldn’t run a casino without losing money is now trying to run the country like a reality show—and we’re all footing the bill.
Either Trump is the most incompetent man to ever touch economic policy, or he’s actively trying to destroy the United States. I think it’s both.

I did some door-to-door to remove a CORRUPT CANDIDATE & the response was invariably "WE ONLY VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS!"
I knocked on doors in a few conspicuously poor areas & received similar responses.
The most striking was the voter, DRUNK before NOON lecturing me in slurred speech.
Another actually called the POLICE because I knocked on his door.
MASSACHUSETTS has had several candidates who LIE - easily disproven LIES! Republicans rally around them. Most recently, it was CARPETBAGGER JOHN DEATON who challenged Senator Elizabeth Warren. JOHN DEATON, surrounded by other REPUBLICANS lied!
MEIDASTOUCH is a gift of TRUTH they don't want to hear over FOX NEWS = FAKE NEWS LIARS.....BUT now reality has set in with the BUDGET SLASHES that are effecting THEM.
Tragically, unless they are impacted personally, they don't care about anyone else.
They don't see how the slashed funding of USAID impacts them....until we have EBOLA or TB in our nation. They don't understand why AGENT ORANGE cleanup in VIETNAM matters after the tragic death tolls.

Also note that these MAGA DOGE clowns slashed USAID that was funding the CLEANUP of AGENT ORANGE in VIETNAM. The funding abruptly was cut & workers abandoned the CLEANUP leaving AGENT ORANGE uncovered in VIETNAM's rainy season allowed the contamination to flow into rivers.

In the Biden-Harris Administration, I was the White House spokesperson for judicial nominations. Donald Trump and Elon Musk are trying to fire judges if they stop this corrupt, out-of-control administration from breaking the law.
It’s clear that Trump wants to frame debates about his abuse of power around issues he believes work to his advantage. As Democrats, we cannot accept that.
Trump is adept at distraction and spin, which lets him minimize his biggest vulnerabilities. That means our party needs to become experts in segueing back to the issues Trump doesn’t want Americans to think about.
Fox News wrote days ago, “The latest Fox News poll as well as other recent surveys point to growing skepticism about Trump’s economic actions and policies.” Fox continued, “Polls indicate independents are currently giving Trump a thumbs down on his handling of the economy.”
Like Fox’s polling shows, Trump does NOT want his critics to highlight that he’s wrecking the economy by selling middle-class families out to the super rich; that he’s raising the prices he promised to lower with tariff taxes on the middle class that literally fund tax giveaways to billionaires and multinational corporations.
Last week provided a model of how to short-circuit Trump’s manipulation and keep the focus where he does not want it.
Republicans hope a debate about impeaching judges will divert Americans’ attention from how he’s betraying ordinary voters to the elite establishment he swore to fight. The GOP thinks that because one of the many cases Trump’s losing in court deals with immigration, they can make any conversation about judges center on the lie that Democrats somehow don’t want to deport violent gang members.
Across the board, they’re wrong. For one thing, Democrats do want to deport violent criminals who came into the country illegally. We just don’t want innocent people swept up with them.
But more broadly, when Republicans talk about impeaching judges, they are giving us an opportunity to show that corruption has a tangible, economic price — and it’s everyday people who pay it. When Trump raises the impeachment of judges, there’s another case that Democrats should steer the discussion toward. One that exemplifies how defending the rule of law from Trump’s criminal overreach isn’t abstract or elitist, but critical to the economic needs of middle-class families.
It’s this. Elon Musk’s staff were caught illegally poring through Americans’ personal Social Security data, compromising our most personal information. A federal judge is the reason they were stopped. In a court order, DOGE was blasted for gaining “unbridled access to the personal and private data of millions of Americans, including but not limited to Social Security numbers, medical records, mental health records, hospitalization records, drivers’ license numbers, bank and credit card information, tax information, income history, work history, birth and marriage certificates, and home and work addresses.”
What happened next? Did Musk apologize? Did the richest man in the world — who happily laid off federally-employed veterans with the best performance reviews possible — terminate a single one of his own aides when they illegally invaded Americans’ financial, medical, and personal privacy? No. Apparently, the Trump Administration does not respect federal employees who risked their lives for our freedom and safety nearly as much as Musk’s yes-men.
Instead, the Trump Administration wanted to remove that judge and cut off all Social Security benefits.
Trump’s head of the Social Security Administration angrily reacted to the court order by saying he wanted “to turn [Social Security] off and let the courts figure out how they want to run a federal agency.” Who’s going to tell him that none of his predecessors, Republican or Democrat, thought violating the law and handing our most personal information over to a corrupt billionaire was part of their job description?
Social Security is exactly the kind of high-priority economic issue Democrats should pivot to, overriding Trump’s diversions. Republican strategists agree. On Sunday, NBC reported, “Trump allies press the White House to dial back Elon Musk's media interviews over his Social Security jabs,” including calling Social Security a “Ponzi scheme.”
There’s a lot to work with on this issue once you’ve taken the opening. For example, today, The Washington Post wrote, "Long waits, waves of calls, website crashes: Social Security is breaking down." DOGE has slashed the Social Security workforce, making it much harder for recipients to contact the agency. Trump and Musk have also been rapidly closing a host of Social Security offices that Americans rely on, especially in rural areas. At the same time, they’re demanding that recipients come into the remaining offices in person, without any regard for the fact that a large percent of them have limited mobility. Why are elderly and disabled Americans being forced into this needless Catch-22, being told they have to haul themselves into a shrinking number of Social Security offices, traveling who knows how far? Because Donald Trump and Elon Musk — both billionaires — would rather spend that money on tax handouts for the super rich.
The next day, Trump’s Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnick — another billionaire — showed how little this administration cares about the honest people whose lives they’re turning upside down. Lutnick said that if Social Security “didn’t send out their checks this month, my mother-in-law, who’s 94, she wouldn’t call and complain. She’d think something got messed up, and she’ll get it next month.”
That’s one of the most out-of-touch things I’ve ever heard in my life.
But that egotistical dismissal of the Americans Trump promised to fight for holds the key to turning narratives around, and to ensuring that Americans know as much as possible about how Trump has double-crossed them financially before voting in the 2022 midterms. Republicans are so in bed with the rich establishment they promised to stand up against that they want to fire the judge standing between a corrupt billionaire and our Social Security data. And the administration that assured us they'd protect Social Security is stripping the Social Security Administration down to parts in the name of tax welfare for the rich.
