MASS EXODUS from corporate media, networks IN TROUBLE
Post-election ratings for corporate media outlets like MSNBC and CNN have plummeted, with MSNBC losing 53% of prime-time viewership and CNN down 27%, while Fox News saw a 41% increase. This decline signals a broader shift away from traditional corporate media to independent creators and media platforms. As this trend grows, the right-wing independent media, better funded than their left-wing counterparts, appears to be capitalizing on this shift, leaving a significant opportunity for progressive programs like The David Pakman Show to expand.
INFLATION MAN: Trump announces INSANE tariffs on Canada, Mexico, China
Donald Trump, who previously promised to lower prices for Americans, has introduced new tariffs on Mexico and Canada, which are likely to raise costs for U.S. consumers. His tariffs on imports from these countries, as well as a 10% tariff on China, are presented as punishments for drug trafficking, but they ignore the reality that such measures primarily increase costs for businesses and consumers in the U.S. Economists warn that these tariffs will harm the economy. While the tariffs benefit Trump and his wealthy allies, they place the financial burden on average Americans.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump's NEW AG pick might be THE MOST corrupt person in the country
Donald Trump has appointed Pam Bondi as attorney general, raising alarms about corruption and loyalty over competence. As Florida’s attorney general, Bondi dropped a potential investigation into Trump University shortly after receiving a $25,000 donation from Trump’s charity—an illegal act that directly benefited Trump. Her appointment signals a continuation of Trump’s pattern of rewarding loyalists who protect him and weaponize their positions against his political adversaries. Unlike his first term, where some cabinet picks had a veneer of competence, Trump now prioritizes figures like Bondi, whose record reflects blatant self-serving and unethical behavior.
From yesterday’s show:
OH NO: Trump has LOST Rand Paul
Senator Rand Paul, known for occasionally defying Trump, has criticized elements of his mass deportation plan, calling them illegal under U.S. law. Specifically, Paul pointed to the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits using the military for domestic law enforcement, including deploying the National Guard without the authorization of the governor of the state where they would operate. His acknowledgment of the plan’s unlawful components underscores broader concerns about the legality and implications of Trump’s proposal.
