I’m so f***ing proud of you

 

Let me start off by saying this. While we didn’t get the result we hoped for, we’re so f***ing proud of what we accomplished. → Our team activated a huge group of disillusioned and first time voters. Over 7,500 people contributed to our campaign - many of them had never given to a political campaign before. → We won almost 16% of the vote despite being outspent 10-to-1. This is a huge deal! We came in with nothing but grassroots energy and enthusiasm and left our mark on this election. → We reached MILLIONS of people nationwide and brought over 30,000 Democrats into the conversation online and in person. I’ll be clear: I’m going to do everything in my power to get Adam Frisch elected because our number one priority is kicking Lauren Boebert to the curb. To our incredible supporters, this is not the end. We’re just getting started. Together, we WILL dismantle the GOP’s stranglehold on our civil rights through brutal f***ing honesty. Stay tuned. I started my campaign to save our democracy from Lauren Boebert's far-right conspiracy theories. But since launching my campaign, I’ve realized Boebert's bullshit isn't even my biggest obstacle. Instead, the biggest obstacle to my campaign, and one of the biggest threats to our democracy is... MONEY! Anyone who wants to win an election in this country needs money. Which means regular people (me), have to beg you for grassroots support and send you annoying emails like this. Sorry! If you believe in my campaign, you can click here to donate. I appreciate it more than you know. As the primary nears, money's influence on our elections becomes clearer and clearer. One of my primary opponents is a self-funded career politician, who's poured millions of their own money into boosting their campaign — and my advisors say that could be enough for them to win the primaries. And yet — it may not be enough to give Democrats a win in the midterms. And you know why? Take a guess. That's right — because Republicans have even more MILLIONS than they do. Do you see the problem? I won’t shame anyone for playing the game — hello, I’m doing the same thing — but I won’t keep quiet about systemic issues with our democracy. Our elections aren't about who has the best policies or who's popular with voters. At the end of the day, most of the time all that matters is who has the most money. If we care about having free and fair elections, we need MAJOR reform to the entire voting system. If I win this race, I will do everything I can to ensure that future elections are accessible to anyone who has the vision to lead. But I won't be able to do it if I don't win. Can I be honest with you? The candidates Democrats are putting up all over this country in RED districts like ours always end up being sanded down to marbles. They have no edge to them. They roll to whatever position people want them to take. They will do whatever they can to be polite and not step on anyones’ toes. THIS IS NOT WORKING! WE NEED GRIT! WE NEED AN EDGE!!
