New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill — March 10, 2026 New Jersey went to federal court on April 7 with an emergency motion to stop DHS from converting a warehouse in Roxbury into an immigration prison, before construction starts as early as late May.
The regime’s own ICE director said he wanted deportation to run “like [Amazon] Prime, but with human beings.” New Jersey’s lawsuit made sure the court saw that quote.
A federal judge in Maryland already found that DHS’s plan to convert a similar warehouse into a prison was likely unlawful. Same crime, different zip code—only now there’s precedent.
Governor Mikie Sherrill put it plainly: “The Trump Administration has ignored State and local officials in pushing its ill-conceived plan forward because it knows the local impacts are indefensible, and this facility will not make the community safer.”
New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport warned: “The court needs to step in before the damage is done, not after a lengthy case renders it too late.”
The regime’s mandatory detention policy meant one thing for non-citizens—if ICE picked you up, you stayed locked up. No bond hearing. No judge. No criminal record required. It didn’t matter if you’d lived in the US for decades and never been charged with a crime.
Since the policy was implemented, more than 100 judges nationwide had already ruled it a due process violation. And on April 3, US District Judge Richard Boulware II in Nevada threw the policy out. He ruled it violates federal law and the Fourth Amendment, and causes “irreparable harm.”
Starting now, up to 60 people a week locked up under this policy in Nevada can go home. Michael Kagan of the UNLV Immigration Clinic said it’s already happening—bonds are being granted this week that would’ve been denied before. Kagan said the policy “wasn’t about a danger to the public. It was just about locking up undocumented immigrants.”
The regime locked the door. A federal judge just opened it.
Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell The regime spent a year demanding voter data from states across the country and called it election security. Their own attorney admitted in open court that was a lie. The real plan was to cross-reference the data with federal immigration databases to identify and hunt noncitizens. They were trying to weaponize voter registration against your neighbors.
When states resisted, the regime sued. On Thursday, a Massachusetts judge found the DOJ offered “no basis—none,” and dismissed the case. That’s now the fourth court to do so. An Oregon judge ruled the DOJ had forfeited its right to be taken at its word. Even a Trump-appointed judge in Michigan agreed.
Massachusetts AG Andrea Joy Campbell said: “The privacy of our voters is not up for negotiation.”
Seventeen Republican-led states willingly handed over the data. Democratic attorneys general are fighting back and winning in court. Remember that in November.
Ethiopian activists protesting outside the White House DHS has been stripping Temporary Protected Status from people living legally in the US by claiming conditions in their home countries have improved. For Ethiopia—a country still at war—that claim is a lie.
Judge Brian Murphy in Massachusetts wasn’t having it. “Perhaps it has been a banner year for disaster recovery and geopolitical stability worldwide,” he wrote. “The evidence, and common sense, suggests otherwise.”
On April 8, Murphy blocked the regime from ending the legal protections that allow people from conflict zones to live and work in the US. Status and work authorizations remain in place.
Amaha Kassa of African Communities Together said: “We are celebrating alongside over 5,000 of our neighbors who can finally exhale.”
The judges and lawyers didn’t give up. Nor did the 5,000 Ethiopians who waited for the ruling, or the people of Roxbury. And neither will we.

I have two questions for you today.
Roxbury’s mayor and council are Republicans. Does bipartisan resistance change how you see the fight?
Elections are in Hungary today. Do you think Orbán will lose? If so, how do you think it will impact Europe, and Trump?

Thank you Scott this is what’s happening article by the Guardian
Pete Hegseth’s holy war: the militant Christian theology animating the US attack on Iran
I just can't believe how Hegseth is threatening the Pope, either bless us or ..... Or what? Are they going to bomb the Vatican? This just can't get any more ridiculous and insane.
Hegseth needs to be gone, period. Impeachment papers against him have been filed, but I'd rather see IQ47 blame the Iran war on him while the military comes home.
Mikie Sherrill wasted no time coming in and kicking MAGA butts. I love it. Happy Sunday everyone. Thanks for another awesome week here on substack together.
I’m so glad she is our governor, she is keeping her promises!
Marc Elias said the midterms will be a battle of the courts and from the looks of it, Scott we’re winning and they’re whining. Today we might also see Viktor Orban removed from power in the Hungarian special elections now. The turnout is massive!
My most fervent hope is that this bipartisan resistance will become bipartisan cooperation in Congress, Scott! It is the way our government is supposed to work! Before that orange buffoon descended that escalator our Republicans and Democrats in Congress worked through bipartisanship to enact legislation that was beneficial to all Americans. His divisive and nasty rhetoric was done to divide the two parties and cause hate and chaos. He wanted his cult to be the 'only' ones to receive anything and when that did not work, he continued to sew mistrust between the two parties. I don't know whether they will ever come back together. I hope with all of my heart that Orban will lose and Hungary can move to a more Democratic country. If Orban loses, I would hope that it would give the orange stain pause, but I feel he will just scream the elections over there were rigged, too! Keep fighting, America! Stay strong and stay safe!
“Republicans and Democrats in Congress worked through bipartisanship to enact legislation that was beneficial to all Americans.” Not exactly
1. McConnell stole a Supreme Court pick from a president b/c he was from the other party.
2. Rs refused to support healthcare even for their own people b/c the law would be signed by a president from the other party.
3. Rs refused to support an infrastructure bill that would help their own areas, b/c the law would be signed by a president from the other party. Then took photo opps by bridges when the $ poured in, as if they had anything to do with it.
4. Rs refused to support stimulus funds during Covid b/c a Democratic Speaker of the House led the way. Then T signed the checks like it was his idea.
5. Most egregious of all, McConnell and Rs turned a blind eye and in the end basically supported a government coup on Jan 6.
So when exactly did “Republicans and Democrats in Congress work through bipartisanship to enact legislation that was beneficial to all Americans” happen?
Cassandra, you are right. I should have indicated that bipartisanship in Congress began to decline in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It broke completely down during President Obama's first term, largely in part because Republicans hated that a black man had been elected President and Mitch McConnell vowed to block him at every turn. The Republican Party prevented cooperation on major issues like health care, immigration and Medicare. This divide continued to worsen when the orange man came into power. My apologies for blaming it on just him. Before the decline of bipartisanship, both parties worked together on national security issues and foreign affair issues. Even the Great Recession of 2008 had both parties working together to pass stimulus and stabilization bills. I would just simply like to see that bipartisanship happening again for the betterment of all Americans. When the parties work together, good things happen. Sorry if I upset you. It wasn't my intention.
I see in Florida that Republicans are losing. The fight is not necessarily Republican vs Democrat. It’s Trump vs non-Trump. Non-MAGA vs MAGA.
Anne Applebaum speaks of the reasons that Orban can lose. Vance’s appearances to support Orban seem to have backfired. I pray 🙏 Orban will lose.
New Jerseyans stand behind and for our immigrants. They are what makes us a community that thrives. The Immigrant Trust Directive has been codified into law. The bottom line is that no one is legally arrested without a judicial warrant. No more masked ICE roaming the streets, terrorizing and kidnapping people because they feel like it. Time to start arresting ICE agents and defunding it.
This just in Orban in Hungary lost and he conceded. Trump's kiss of death to anyone he endorses and Vance made everything so much worse in Hungary.
Tickle me as Vance comes back with two victories for America’s freedom. Failure in Iran and Orban’s defeat!
