Ed Markey's tweet: This is just another step in Trump's campaign against transgender people

Americans today face so many pressing issues in their lives.

The cost of living is rising, income inequality is growing, climate disasters are worsening, and essential needs like health care, childcare, and education are out of reach for so many.

But instead of tackling these issues, what does Trump choose to focus on? Attacking transgender people.

That’s right, Trump and the GOP are obsessed with attacking a group of Americans who have had to fight for their rights every day.

It’s not just about sports — the Trump administration, through executive order, is attempting to take away all gender-affirming care for patients under 19. If they are not stopped, they could keep going and pass a nationwide ban on transgender health care.

I will always stand with my LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors as the far-right work to roll back the clock on civil rights. Trans rights are human rights.

If you’re with me, add your name to our petition calling on Congress to protect transgender rights in America. The President is not all-powerful, and its time for those of us in Congress to act.

ADD YOUR NAME

In solidarity with our transgender friends and with everyone in this progressive movement,

Ed Markey

USAID workers sue Musk and DOGE for unconstitutional ‘government takeover’

  • Dozens of USAID employees sued Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for unconstitutionally wielding extreme power in destroying agencies and accessing sensitive information, constituting a “government takeover.”

  • The USAID workers asked a federal court in Maryland to void the department’s previous actions and declare them unlawful, as well as block Musk and DOGE from “performing their significant and wide-ranging duties” unless Musk is properly appointed and confirmed.

Class action lawsuit filed to block DOGE from accessing Treasury records

  • Several plaintiffs filed a class action lawsuit against Musk, the Office of Personnel Management and the Treasury Department after their social security numbers and other personal information were breached and accessed by DOGE. The plaintiffs said millions of people could be impacted.

Hearings coming up tomorrow in DOGE lawsuits

  • A court in Washington D.C. will hear a lawsuit from undergrad students in the University of California system seeking to block the Department of Education from granting DOGE access to sensitive student loan data.

The latest decisions on lawsuits against Trump administration

  • A federal judge in Massachusetts issued the fourth nationwide temporary block on Trump’s executive order attempting to limit birthright citizenship.

  • Trump's "deferred resignation" program can move forward, a federal judge said yesterday, finding the unions who challenged the directive didn’t have standing to sue.

Like Trump, Jefferson Griffin may be one vote away from overturning a state’s election result
