BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION, MOST DETAINEES HAVE COMMITTED NO CRIME!

DENIED DUE PROCESS!

The GEO Group is a for-profit private prison firm and a massive financial supporter of MAGA campaigns and causes.  GEO Group just inherited a windfall from the taxpayers—courtesy Donald Trump and congressional Republicans—by partnering with ICE to house immigrant detainees across the country in private prisons they operate and control. GEO operates a for-profit detention center in Aurora, Colorado. For years, the Aurora facility has been the subject of serious alleged violations of basic human dignity, inhumane and unsanitary conditions, and a dangerous and unsafe environment for detainees.  Detainees in these centers have described deplorable “hell on earth” conditions for people held in them. Deaths have surged at detention facilities since Trump took office. Democratic lawmakers in Colorado just passed a state law to require regular health and safety inspections of immigrant detention facilities like the one in Aurora. In retaliation, GEO Group sued Colorado to invalidate the law and stop state inspectors from ever enforcing it.

GEO Group’s political affiliates contributed over $3.7 million in 2024 to conservative groups like Make America Great Again Inc, and GOP leadership PACs that bankroll Republican candidates for Congress like the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and the Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF).  Republican Rep. Gabe Evans represents Colorado’s 8th District, a heavily Latino tossup district. He cast a deciding vote for Trump’s disastrous “Big Beautiful Bill” and voted to fund ICE to the tune of $170 billion.  Both Gabe Evans and Lauren Boebert's campaigns are propped up by money filtered through those GOP Leadership PACs to fund his re-election. That’s why these two are our top MAGA targets for defeat this year. Colorado Turnout Project is turning up the heat on Gabe Evans and Lauren Boebert and deploying a grassroots team right now to let voters know that their representatives support private prisons that abuse and neglect immigrants who have been denied due process.
