Apologies for the technical glitch the first time I tried to send this out, which gave you a shaky video of me staring vacantly around the room instead of Mike’s and my actual conversation. Here’s the real thing!
The ACLU’s Mike Zamore joined us this morning for an incredibly thoughtful conversation about how the Trump administration‘s mass deportation policy is damaging all of us; our democracy and each of us as individuals, as citizens of it. If you find the words of Niemöller—“first they came for”—to be an appropriate cautionary tale for the era we live in, then you’ll want to watch this conversation if you missed it live. Mike and I discuss how this administration is already coming for the rest of us, whether people have made that connection or not.
This conversation is essential listening for everyone. We work through how to talk about what’s happening with people who still seem to be inexplicably on the fence or aware of what’s going on but disengaged from the need to do something about it, especially when it comes to the midterm elections. Please share this one widely—I’m so grateful to Mike Zamore for making time to spend with us.
