RFK JR IS BRAIN DEAD! FACTUALLY INCORRECT....
I work in a hospital. Whenever the subject of vaccines comes up, whether it is with patients or my own colleagues, I relate the following story: My mother was a nurse in the early 1950's. When she graduated from nursing school, we had not yet developed the polio vaccine. All of the diseases we now have vaccines for were absolute scourges that tore through both domestic and global populations. When there were outbreaks, hospitals had "wards" - large gymnasium-like spaces with row after row of beds. People died from these diseases. Many suffered lifelong impairments. The outbreaks had immediate, serious economic impacts. She told me that when the polio vaccine came out, mothers lined up around the block and begged the staff "don't vaccinate me, just vaccinate my child". In a single generation, we have managed to forget the devastating impact that these (now) vaccine-preventable diseases had on EVERYBODY. Both of my brothers (born prior to 1963) almost died from measles encephalitis. I got the vaccine and never had the measles. Vaccines work. They are the single most effective public health tool ever developed in human history. Science Matters. Facts matter. Truth matters. Questions matter. Kindness matters.
