Hey everybody, it's David Corn, the Washington bureau chief of Mother Jones.
You wouldn’t be reading this if you weren’t a fan of the kickass journalism my Mother Jones colleagues and I produce. So I’ve got a hunch that you’d also enjoy receiving my personal newsletter, Our Land. That's why I'm offering readers like you a 30-day free trial—just sign up, no strings attached.
Twice a week—usually—Our Land lands in your inbox, unpacks the key events of the week, and lets you in on what no one else in the media is telling you. It's fresh, fun, and unfiltered. It gives readers the real story behind the headlines. And I often explore the connections between present-day crises and those of the past to deepen our collective understanding of what the hell is going on. Most recently, the newsletter has explained how GOP veep candidate JD Vance has injected racism into his right-wing populism, reported on how conservative culture warriors have tried to hijack the Olympics, and examined how fun is an often-overlooked and critical factor in politics.
In Our Land, I also dive into cultural currents that may or may not have political consequences. (Spoiler alert: They usually do.) I share what I've been reading, watching, and listening to—from bestselling books to popular TV series to obscure documentaries to music you may or may not have heard about. I ask what you’ve been enjoying and would like to share with fellow Our Land readers.
And the newsletter is interactive: I respond to readers who write in with questions, rants, or outside-the-box observations. Plus, premium subscribers get to attend regular Our Land Zoom gatherings with me and occasionally special guests. Bottom line: Our Land is how I get to engage directly with readers and share my years of experience media-watching and covering the heroes and villains of Washington and beyond. I hope you’ll join me by signing up for that trial subscription today.
