It's easy to get discouraged about the state of the world these days.
Every day brings some fresh new hell, as the most powerful country in the history of the world is being led by a deranged, toxic narcissist surrounded by greedy idiots and dangerous sycophants.
The corporate media wants us to be compliant little consumers and accept the world as they want it to be, while Big Tech oligarchs have programmed their algorithms to make us turn on each other and anesthetize our minds by doomscrolling slop.
But there ought to be a news outlet for people who believe in the progressive values of peace, social justice, and economic fairness and want to see real change.
People like you, the ones who give a damn, deserve a news outlet that cares about achieving a better world as much as you do.
That's why Common Dreams was founded nearly 30 years ago. Today, the need for independent progressive media — funded by people, not corporate ads — is greater than ever.
We know you're furious. We feel it too. We read your comments every day, expressing outrage and dismay. We see you in the streets. We lift up those voices, like yours, standing on the right side of history.
But the authoritarian forces in society have taken a strong hold. They control corporate media and are actively attacking the foundations of democracy. The independent journalism of Common Dreams is a key part of the antidote to this dire situation.
Will you help meet our make-or-break Spring Campaign goal by making a donation today? Every dollar counts, and no donation is too large or too small.
You give a damn. And so do we.
