 Zohran Mamdani just shocked the world in the New York City Democratic mayoral primary with a massive upset victory over Andrew Cuomo. Not only is Mamdani’s win a substantial blow to the Democratic establishment and a victory for progressive politics, but it was also a massive win for pro-Palestinian movement in the US:  Leading up to the election, the establishment media dusted off the same old AIPAC talking points - trying to paint Mamdani as radical Islamist and antisemite for simply calling for the end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza. His opponent, Andrew Cuomo, was also backed by the MAGA billionaires who bankroll AIPAC - spending a record breaking $25 million to try and defeat Zohran.  And Zohran kicked their ass.  This is watershed moment in American politics - the tides have turned completely turned against Israel’s genocide and AIPAC’s Islamophobic smears were overwhelmingly rejected by Democrats. Zohran showed Democrats that they can defeat the AIPAC campaign cash and propaganda machine, and paved a way forward for the party to reclaim their status as the pro-human rights and anti-war party. Members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus should take note. Nearly half of the caucus’s members have accepted massive donations from the Trump-aligned AIPAC. AIPAC support is not a boon, it's a liability - and standing with AIPAC will cause these Democrats to lose their seats. All expenses-paid courtside seats to genocide

 

 More details have recently emerged about former progressive darling turned AIPAC puppet, Senator John Fetterman, and his ties to Israeli special interests - and it includes an all expenses-paid vacation to Israel with courtside seats to genocide: Funded by Relief Resources, a New York City-based nonprofit that describes itself as “dedicated to supporting the international Jewish community in overcoming the broad range of conditions related to mental illness," Fetterman’s three-day Israel vacation cost over $36,000 and included first class flights to Israel and stays in five-star hotels in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Whilst in Israel, Fetterman met with war criminal and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who gave Fetterman a silver beeper to commemorate Israel’s terrorist attack in Lebanon, which killed dozens of innocent civilians and was condemned by the United Nations as a “terrifying violation of international law.”  These types of lavish all expense-paid trips to Israel for members of Congress isn’t something new. It’s a favored tactic of AIPAC who have spent millions on these types of trips over the past decade: Let’s call it what it is; these trips are (somehow) legal bribes. The Palestinian people have borne the cost of this of this corruption as U.S. taxpayer funded and American-made bombs reign death and destruction in Gaza - despite a majority of Americans being opposed to U.S. involvement with Israel’s genocide. And this type of corruption isn’t limited in scope, it extends throughout the entirety of congress, including members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus where dozens of members have taken AIPAC campaign cash in return for their silence and complicity in genocide. That is why Clean Up the Caucus is holding Democrats in the Congressional Progressive Caucus accountable for their corruption. They should be the ones leading the call to end this genocide and to withhold military aid to Israel. But they are silent - dreaming of their next vacation in Tel Aviv. The Pope Fought For Palestine

 

 There's a lot of bad news hitting us right now and unfortunately now we have one more devastating thing that's happened. Pope Francis, one of the most high-profile advocates for peace in Palestine, has passed away at the age of 88. As everyday citizens, it often feels like there's not much we can do to advocate for people facing death, destruction, and famine thousands of miles away. But Pope Francis led by example and used his status as a world leader to speak about the atrocities in Gaza and elsewhere in Palestine. He correctly referred to Israel's war — which has killed upwards of 45,000 civilians — as terror and he made phone calls to the Catholic parish in Gaza every single night to send his love and show his support. We need more leaders like Pope Francis — leaders who will stand up for peace even when it is difficult or unpopular. And in remembering his life and legacy, we hope that you will join us in finding a small bit of the Pope in yourself.
