Great News That’s Terrible For Trump He Never Wants You To See

Whistleblower exposes ICE, the resistance shuts down DHS prison camp, DOJ's Epstein cover-up unravels, and Trump’s unhinged military lies get fact-checked into oblivion

The regime is lying about ICE’s dangerous training cuts, burying Epstein files that mention Trump by name, and rewriting their own general’s warnings about war. Today, we’ve got the truth they desperately want buried—and we won’t let it stay that way.

Hit the ❤️ like button and restack right now—every share strikes back against their propaganda machine.

We have no billionaires or corporate influence here. Just reader-funded journalists leading the resistance to victory in the fall. If you’re not a paid subscriber yet, today’s a great day to join us:

ICE RESISTANCE

Ryan Schwank — Feb 23, 2026

Ryan Schwank spent years as an ICE attorney before moving to the academy as an instructor. On his first day, a supervisor handed him a memo directing him to teach recruits they could enter homes without a warrant.

He was told to read and return the memo while in the supervisor’s presence—no notes, no written record, no discussion. Two instructors had already been fired for asking questions.

Schwank chose the Constitution over compliance—he resigned and became a whistleblower. This week he testified at a congressional forum, and didn’t mince words: “I am here because I am duty-bound to report the legally required training program at the ICE academy is deficient, defective, and broken.”

He went further: “ICE is teaching cadets to violate the Constitution, and they were attempting to cloak it in secrecy by demanding that I lie about it.”

The rot goes even deeper than that. Schwank also revealed that ICE cut training hours for recruits by roughly 40%. Schwank said: “Deficient training can and will get people killed.”

BLOCKING TRUMP’S ICE PRISONS

Protesters in Merrimack, NH — Feb 21, 2026

In New Hampshire, about 1,500 people showed up to protest a proposed ICE facility in Merrimack. The public pressure worked—even Republican Governor Kelly Ayotte pushed back hard. Noem folded and agreed not to move forward with the new site.

Former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, who recently traveled to the state, said: “Never underestimate your own power in moments like these.”

Meanwhile, DHS tried to convert a 54-acre warehouse near Williamsport, Maryland, into a massive ICE prison. The state’s Attorney General Anthony Brown sued on Monday to stop it. “No administration is above the law,” Brown said. “We will hold the federal government accountable.”

FACT CHECK: TRUMP’S LIES ABOUT THE MILITARY

Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine

We just caught Trump telling four lies about the military in one week.

He spent months claiming Iran’s nuclear capabilities had been “completely and totally obliterated” after his strikes on the country last year. But at the State of the Union, he hunched over and told Congress that Iran already has missiles threatening Europe.

Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine warned Trump a new Iran strike was risky—and could lead to war, death of American troops, and a larger conflict in the region. Despite that, Trump lied about the risks and claimed online that Caine believes it would be “something easily won.”

If lying about war wasn’t enough, Trump posted that a US Navy hospital ship was “on the way” to Greenland. That ship is docked in Alabama—and won’t be ready for months. Greenland’s Prime Minister was unimpressed: “It will be a no thank you from here.”

Trump also tried to take credit for the Mexican military raid that killed cartel kingpin El Mencho, before Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum corrected him, saying: “No American troops were involved, and the US role was limited to intelligence sharing.” Allegedly, Trump was so uninvolved that he called Sheinbaum after the killing to ask: “What’s going on in Mexico?”

Trump hoped nobody was keeping score. Well, we are.

DOJ BURIES TRUMP ACCUSATION

Yesterday, an investigation revealed that the DOJ removed or withheld more than 50 pages of FBI interview notes related to an accusation against Trump. Democrats on the House Oversight Committee call it an illegal withholding and have opened a probe into it.

The regime signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, released millions of pages, and called it transparency. What they didn’t mention is what they’ve removed about Trump.

The only way this regime will get held accountable is if we keep the pressure on. That’s where we come in. I’ve been investigating this scandal for a decade, and I’m not stopping now.

On top of our investigative work and daily news briefs, we have driven 644,000 calls and letters to Congress and generated billions of impressions on social media. We’re fighting MAGA propaganda, calling out Trump’s lies, and holding this corrupt regime accountable.

I have two questions for you:

What is the most absurd lie the regime is spreading right now?

Thoughts about the ICE whistleblower?

A FEW OF MANY COMMENTS:

Just a quick note about ICE training as compared to the military and real law enforcement. Back in the day, the Army provided me with about eight full weeks of basic training and another eight full weeks of Advanced Individual Training (and they were full weeks, beginning at 7 am and running till at least 5 pm, five days a week. That would be 880 hours of training. Nationwide, police recruits receive about the same number of hours, with a significant amount of their training being focused on the law, de-escalation and self defense skills. By contrast, ICE training is less than half of either the military or law enforcement (despite ICE recruits receiving “bonuses”, student loan repayments, and salaries that all exceed those available to the military or actual law enforcement)

In all the photos I have seen, ICE look like fat Bubbas. They certainly don't look like they have had much physical training.

Every honorable profession has training guidelines, criteria, measurements for achievement. That statement absolutely excludes the THUGS of ICE.

To continue: the fact that we can even ask ourselves what the administration’s ‘most absurd lie’ is says everything we need to know about this administration🄓

I’m very impressed with Ryan Schwann. I pray nothing bad happens to him. Having to even think that way makes me sad.

DHS kills American citizens without even looking back.

We need to impeach Noem, Bondi and Blanche yesterday.

What’s the holdup??

Thank you Mr Scwank! I wish there were many more Military, FBI, and Secret Service Agents who would resist, blow the whistle, and take action on this UNCONSTITUTIONAL regime. The regime is one BIG unqualified, immoral fake lie. Lock them up!

HELLO, AMERICA? Anyone Out there that can hold a child rapist accountable? Anyone? HELLO? Where is the fucking outrage? We have all seen it in the trumpstein files! We have all read the testimony of the 13 yr old - saying trump would murder her and her family if the details of the rape come out! trump paid her off! That details have come out.

Come on AMERICA, repubs impeached a president for a blow job! and Dems can't impeach a child rapist /a blow job and multiple murders of Americans and fishermen, and bought and paid for election, and 34 convicted felonies, and accepting bribes and accepting a plane and a real estate scam in Gaza and deregulating crypto so his company can make millions and a bought and paid for SCOTUS and DOJ....UNTIL NOW! It can NOT be any clearer the multiple impeachable offenses and murders and rapes. WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR! IMPRISON THIS POS POTUS!

Worst lie is a hard one, SAVE act, comes to mind

Bravo to the whistleblower on the ICE training

Keep up the great work Scott

Damn baby! This is FULL of so much wrong. I've been reading you for several months, but it just gets worse!! I take great comfort to read about all the RESISTANCE that you spotlight for us Scott. This is what keeps me going, knowing that many others know that this is a fight to save our democracy. Thank you for this news you spend so much time on in your everyday life. Your work is so important Scott-Keep up the good news!

1. The lies are too many to rank. If trump is talking, he is lying. If Noem is talking, she is lying. If Bondi is talking, she is lying. If Kashyap (his full first name should always be used…. It suits him!) is talking, he is lying. If RFK, Jr. is talking, he is lying. If James David Vance is talking, he is lying. If Dr. Wizard of Oz is talking, he is lying. If Scott is talking, he is smirking and lying. If Tulsi is talking, she is lying. If Pete warrior Hegseth is talking, he is lying. If Lying Lutnick is talking, he is lying and making a profit off of it.

I think the biggest lie is that the orange blight is in charge and responsible for the decisions being made by the administration. He can barely function. He falls asleep during important meetings. He believes he's in charge, he believes he's smarter than everyone else. But he's a front for billionaires, oligarchs, techbros and Putin that exploit the weaknesses in our Constitution. He wouldn't be president now, if the Epstein class didn't find him useful.

It's sad that a whistle blower is someone who is defending our Constitution and our laws. It should be the duty of everyone working for ICE to follow the law, not subvert the law.

Scott, I believe you are the best person to answer your question about the most absurd lie spreading right now. Personally, I don't know how you pick one, but I would love to hear yours. I don't believe anything that comes from this Administration.

My thoughts about ICE whistleblowers, thank God we have some honest people in our government. It's a shame they have to resign. It's a shame we have to have whistleblowers. How nice would it be to have honest people running our government. Darn, America got it so wrong. Do you know how GREAT this country would be right now if everyone had voted as I did and President Kamala Harris were leading this country we love so much. I miss the days of calm; I miss President Joseph Biden.

Often at odds, Mariano and Spilka united by ballot question frustration

LITERACY: Massachusetts is inching toward a major overhaul of literacy instruction that would require districts to use state-approved curricula including phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension, but some educators are wary about the top-down approach. Julian Roberts-Grmela takes a deep dive in a partnership with The Hechinger Report.

OPINION: As a new health care affordability working group convened by Gov. Maura Healey begins its work behind closed doors, Paul Hattis argues that members need to use that privacy to consider politically risky ideas that could have a real impact on health care costs.

Nothing gets elected officials to set aside their differences quite like a common enemy.

House Speaker Ron Mariano and Senate President Karen Spilka, who regularly go through peaks and valleys of cooperation and conflict, came together to lament the growing trend of voters and organizers taking the act of legislating into their own hands.

With the Legislature gearing up to launch its review of 11 questions that could appear on the ballot this fall, Mariano and Spilka on Wednesday aired skepticism about several of the individual measures but reserved their sharpest words for the ballot question process itself. They contended that well-funded interest groups have essentially taken over the constitutionally defined mechanism by which Bay Staters can directly propose and approve laws.

The whole system is fraught with peril,” Mariano said. “We’re going to look like California with 24, 25 questions on every ballot.”

Appearing alongside Spilka at an event hosted by MASSterList and State House News Service, Mariano lamented the now-routine process of ballot question campaigns using paid firms to gather the tens of thousands of voter signatures necessary to qualify.

“It’s a situation that smacks me as being a little bit too easy for these folks to cherry-pick the issues that are important to them,” Mariano said.

He also referenced allegations that organizers behind a recreational marijuana repeal question misled voters, claims that a state commission ultimately dismissed, and complained that two statewide officeholders, Secretary of State William Galvin and Auditor Diana DiZoglio, are getting in on the act, using the initiative petition process to push favored causes — Election Day voter registration and public records reform, respectively — onto the ballot.

Including a proposed repeal of the state’s 2024 gun law, which is already a lock for the ballot, voters could decide up to a dozen questions this fall, which would set a new record.

Most campaigns are helmed by advocacy groups who are fed up with years of trying and failing to gain traction for an issue among lawmakers. Ballot question campaigns are expensive, but they provide a route to circumvent a hesitant Legislature, and they can give supporters new leverage as they push Beacon Hill to act.

Explaining his decision to pursue a voter registration reform at the ballot box, Galvin in November said he is “convinced the resistance in the Legislature is too great.”

ENERGY: Massachusetts Democrats are poised to vote on a controversial and sweeping energy package in the House on Thursday. The bill, which is intended to respond to outrage over high electric and gas costs, would cut $1 billion from the state’s Mass Save program. Jordan Wolman has details.

TRUMP: President Trump alleged in his State of the Union speech this week that Massachusetts and a handful of other states are "even worse" when it comes to public benefits fraud than Minnesota, but analysts think the comparison is dubious. (GBH News)

WORLD CUP: Public transit will need to play an integral role in shuttling fans to and from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough for World Cup matches this summer, especially because the facility will only have about one-quarter as much parking available as usual. (WBUR)

SPOTLIGHT: The Globe’s Spotlight Team found that connections between Jeffrey Epstein and Harvard University ran far deeper than the school’s own review in 2019. (The Boston Globe – paywall)

ENERGY: Environmental activists have been quick to criticize the House’s proposal to trim $1 billion from the Mass Save energy efficiency program, arguing that it will stall or kill its work over the next year. (State House News Service – paywall)

POLICE: Dashboard and body camera footage obtained by the Boston Herald show state police officers pondering how to handle a 2023 crash in which a fellow officer was allegedly intoxicated. The crash led to the death of a disabled man, and recent revelations have set off a political conflagration. (Boston Herald – paywall)
