Experience this intense Senate Judiciary Committee exchange as Senator Peter Welch and FBI Director Kash Patel go back and forth over official travel logs, key personnel decisions, and a multi-million dollar federal aircraft proposal. During this oversight session, Senator Welch methodically examines the FBI's official record, raising critical questions about premature public statements released during active manhunts and the sudden termination of an 18-year decorated FBI veteran. Presenting flight tracker records alongside budget figures, the Senator presses for complete transparency regarding VIP travel to sporting events, the reduction of $500 million in local police grants, and the precise cost breakdown of an $80 million fleet procurement request. Director Patel defends the bureau's operations, citing mandatory federal security protocols governing executive travel and highlighting the distinction between personal residence visits and operational duties. Addressing personnel decisions and aircraft leasing costs under oath, Patel maintains that current security mandates dictate travel procedures while arguing that permanent fleet acquisitions are designed to reduce long-term taxpayer expenditures. The exchange underscores the ongoing tension between executive discretion, agency management, and Congress's constitutional duty to oversee federal spending. What starts as a review of public messaging evolves into a fundamental examination of institutional accountability, public trust, and how taxpayer funds are managed at the highest levels of law enforcement. Should agency leaders be held to exact real-time financial reporting when requesting millions in federal funding, or do mandatory security rules justify these executive travel procedures? Why does a new fire truck cost $2.5M? Corporate Greed. I teamed up with Senator Jim Banks on a bipartisan resolution to get Wall Street out of public safety.

IRAN IS BOMBING AND DESTROYING F-35 JETS!

CENTCOM CONTINUES TO LIE!

Just looked it up: The average flyaway cost of an F-35A is $82.5 million, while the F-35B costs $109 million and the F-35C costs $102.1 million. These costs can vary based on production lots and specific configurations. How many F-35 s have been destroyed in the STUPID TRUMP WAR?

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Todd Blanche's AG bid hits major snag as rift between Trump and GOP senators grows

Three sitting Republican senators who have been excommunicated by Donald Trump for not being sufficiently MAGA are sending strong signals that they may not back the wannabe dictator's personal attorney, Todd Blanche, to be the nation's next attorney general, triggering a delay in his confirmation vote that was set to take place today.

Outgoing Sens. John Cornyn (Texas), Thom Tillis (North Carolina), and Bill Cassidy (Louisiana) are all set to leave Congress in January after being targeted and/or successfully primaried by Trump, and damned if they haven't suddenly found their previously missing spines.

We don't know why courage is so elusive in today's GOP, but that's a conversation for another day. Right now, Blanche is on the ropes, and Donald has no one but himself to blame.

Take Action: Rein in Big Tech’s data center power grab

Trump "exasperated" as his top officials at odds over Iran war strategy

America's wannabe dictator is learning the hard way that wars of choice in the Middle East are easy to start, hard to win, and damn-near impossible to end without costly, catastrophic consequences.

Also, color us SHOCKED that a brain trust that includes Trump, JD Vance, Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, and rando real estate developer Steve Witkoff isn't able to muster anything resembling a coherent exit strategy.

Take Action: Impeach Donald Trump for restarting his illegal war against Iran!

Progressive champion Abdul El-Sayed surges against a tide of dark money

Abdul El-Sayed for Senate: Abdul El-Sayed is running for Senate because it shouldn't be this hard for everyday Americans to simply get by. He's running on three basic principles: money out of politics, money in your pocket, and Medicare for all. A pair of new polls show El-Sayed with a dominating ten-point lead over his primary opponent, so it’s time to start planning for the bruising fight that awaits with MAGA GOP Rep. Mike Rogers in the general election. Will you chip in to help Abdul El-Sayed take on Trump's hand-picked Michigan pawn and flip the Senate blue?

Trump announces another DC-area renovation project in the middle of his war

With his "little excursion" in Iran entering its sixth month with no end in sight and polls showing support for his presidency cratering across the board, our autocrat-in-training is laser focused on what truly matters most: pet renovation projects and territorial pissing.

Yesterday Donald Trump unveiled a $22.5 billion renovation project for Dulles International Airport — which Republicans have repeatedly tried to rename after the MAGA cult leader in the past — and laughably claimed taxpayers wouldn't have to contribute a penny. His administration is claiming the project will be bonded, with participating airlines paying for the whole thing and definitely not passing that cost along to customers or asking for additional public funds when it inevitably runs way over budget. "Cost was no object, unfortunately or fortunately," Trump said, like a man who literally poops in a gold-plated toilet.

Embattled House Republican faces harrowing domestic abuse allegations

Ohio's Max Miller, who is locked in an unexpectedly tight battle to keep his gerrymandered seat in Congress, has been accused of domestic abuse by his wife, the daughter of fellow Ohio Republican Bernie Moreno, the state's junior senator. The charges leveled by Emily Moreno are deeply disturbing.

According to the The New York Times, Ms. Moreno accused the two-term congressman of throwing hot water from a skillet at her body, scalding her chest and stomach; holding a gun to her head; shoving her against a wall, causing her to hit her head; and fracturing their two-year-old daughter’s collarbone and bruising her shoulder. According to court documents, the couple's toddler once told her mother, "Daddy kill you.”

GOP senator wildly claims COVID vaccine is "greatest government scandal of my lifetime"
Republican Sen. Ron Johnson used his time during yesterday's witch hunt of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, to make wildly unfounded claims about the dangers of the COVID vaccines that credibly saved the lives of millions of Americans as we navigated our way through the most serious global health crisis since the Spanish influenza pandemic of 1918. Johnson laughably called the COVID-19 vaccine the "greatest government scandal of my lifetime," which is particularly rich coming from one of Donald Trump's most steadfast enablers in the US Senate over the past decade.

This isn't Johnson's first wackadoodle rodeo, of course. In December, ProPublica reported that the senator planned to endorse an upcoming book that promotes chlorine dioxide — a chemical commonly used for disinfecting and bleaching — as a treatment for autism and a range of other serious illnesses, calling it "a gripping tale of corruption and courage that will open eyes and prompt serious questions." Oh, we've got serious questions, alright. How is this clown still in office, for starters?

Kash Patel loses lawsuit against blogger who called him "googly-eyed chud"
A judge has thrown out the FBI director's ridiculous attempt to extort TEN MILLION DOLLARS out of a Substack blogger who called him a slew of disparaging names while Patel was working as a conspiracy podcaster for the MAGA media group, The Epoch Times.

The blogger, Jim Stewartson, celebrated his victory by posting on Twitter: "PSA: Now that my case is settled, you are free to refer to @FBIDirectorKash as a ‘chud,’ a ‘googly-eyed Kremlin bitch,’ and a ‘traitor’ without fear of legal repercussions!" Score one for the First Amendment.

Pediatricians and health officials are sidestepping Trump's CDC on vaccine advice
The damage being done to the once-sterling reputation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is, unfortunately, as bad as career health officials warned it would be with Trump's return to power and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s arrival at the Department of Health and Human Services. Within months of his confirmation as secretary, the anti-science quack had dismissed every member of the CDC's vaccine advisory board and replaced them with new appointees, including prominent vaccine skeptics.

As NPR reported, the subsequent rupture of scientific trust in the CDC has put many pediatricians and local health officials in a bind, as they no longer turn to the United States' preeminent public health agency and instead search for ways to fill the information gap. Some doctors are launching their own vaccine education efforts, sometimes in collaboration with local public health departments.

It took decades to build up the kind of public trust the CDC had amassed for the nation of 340 million — and a matter of months for a roadkill-collecting agent of conspiratorial chaos to tear it down.

Republican disenfranchisement bid drives Black voters to polls, study finds

Turns out folks don't care much for being told their votes don't matter — or matter less than others — and are legitimately fired up to let their voices be properly heard.

A new analysis of Black voters in the South indicates that Republican attempts to dilute their political power by gutting the landmark Votings Rights Act of 1965 is driving them to the polls in larger numbers and shifting their counties further left. Friends, if enough people choose to participate in the electoral process, no amount of gerrymandering can muzzle their voices.
