Two watchdog groups have lodged a formal complaint against former Donald Trump attorney Jenna Ellis, calling for her disbarment for her illegal efforts to overthrow the presidential election after Trump lost.

The States United Democracy Center and Lawyers Defending American Democracy sent the 134-page detailed complaint Friday to the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel, a group within the Colorado Supreme Court that overseas the practice of law in the state, the Denver Post was the first to report.

A tearful Ellis pleaded guilty in October in Georgia to a single felony of aiding and abetting false statements and writing concerning the election in the state. The plea was part of a deal with Georgia prosecutors in their sweeping election racketeering case against Trump and 17 other co-defendants.

"If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump in these post-election challenges," Ellis said in court. "I look back on this whole experience with deep remorse for those failures of mine."

She was sentenced to five years probation and fined $5,000.

The watchdog groups argued that Ellis should lose her law license because she broke her pledge as an attorney to uphold the law.

The complaint also accuses her of not accepting responsibility for her actions in her guilty plea, instead characterizing her "criminal conduct as a mere failure to conduct due diligence."

The "lies that Jenna Ellis helped spread about fraud and misconduct by Georgia voters and election administrators poisoned public trust in our elections, endangered election workers and threatened our democracy,” Gillian Feiner, the senior counsel at the States United Democracy Center, said in a statement. 

A representative for Ellis could not immediately be reached for comment Friday.

Ellis, who for years slavishly repeated Trump's baseless claims that the presidential election he lost was rigged, has now become a harsh critic of her former boss.

She sarcastically lashed the former president as the "best Christian ever" after she was denounced as a "disloyal harlot" by conservative Trump ally Lara Loomer following Ellis' plea deal.

Ellis pointed to Trump's ties to porn star Stormy Daniels as his wife, Melania, was giving birth to son Barron.

AIPAC donor urges GOP voters to switch parties to vote against Jamaal Bowman.

 
AIPAC IS A WELL FUNDED ANTI-DEMOCRACY ORGANIZATION

The attacks on progressive incumbent Jamaal Bowman are only getting more aggressive the closer we get to his June 2024 primary election.

First, we learned AIPAC was recruiting someone to challenge Jamaal. Then, out-of-touch career politician George Latimer officially announced his campaign for New York’s 16th congressional district.

Now, an AIPAC donor is actually encouraging Republicans to temporarily switch their political party registration in order to vote against Jamaal in the primary:

AIPAC and its right-wing donors will stop at nothing to unseat courageous progressive champions who are challenging the status-quo and standing up for human life by demanding a ceasefire. They’d rather someone like Latimer in power who will support sending weapons and billions of dollars to Israel, no conditions or questions asked.

With six months until the New York primary election and hundreds of millions of dollars at AIPAC’s disposal, there’s no time to waste. We need a groundswell of people power to re-elect Jamaal and keep him fighting for the progressive change we deserve.
