Key Trump campaign donor steps back from supporting president’s 2020 election bid

Robert Mercer, a billionaire hedge-fund manager, donated $15.5m with his wife, Diana, to a number of organisations that supported Mr Trump in 2016

One of Donald Trump‘s top presidential donors from 2016 has taken a step back from supporting his latest election bid.
Robert Mercer, a billionaire hedge-fund manager, donated $15.5m with his wife, Diana, to a number of organisations that supported Mr Trump and his campaign efforts in 2016. The couple also put up another $1m for the inaugural committee.
Not only did Mr Mercer and his family provide needed donations for the campaign, but they also brought Cambridge Analytica, a data company funded by the billionaire, into the fold.
His daughter, Rebekah Mercer, was on the board for the data-gathering company, and the information that was gathered from the company assisted the Trump campaign in its creation of social media ads that would influence voters.
Mr Mercer also helped staff the now-president for the White House by providing three key employees for Mr Trump: Citizens United President David Bossie as deputy campaign manager, pollster Kellyanne Conway as campaign manager, and Breitbart executive chairman Steve Bannon as his campaign CEO.

Five people in the same sphere as the Mercer family have told Business Insider it was unlikely the billionaire would re-emerge prior to November with funding for the president.
A Republican Party official close to the Trump campaign, who spoke on condition of anonymity to Business Insider, said the campaign was not expecting to receive financial or any other support from the Mercer family.
“The Mercer cavalry,” the official said, “isn’t coming over the hill.”
Another associate of Rebekah Mercer told the publication: “They’re 100, 100, 100 per cent out.”
News of the Mercer family removing itself from the Trump campaign efforts first started in 2018 after public scrutiny heightened over their role in the 2016 campaign, CNBC reported.
Mr Merer and his wife contributed just $400,000 to pro-Trump super PAC, the Great America PAC. Nothing was contributed to Trump Victory, a joint fundraising committee that splits money between the president’s campaign, the Republican National Committee, and 11 state Republican committees.
Then a lone contribution came on 14 February with Mr Mercer donating $355,200 to Trump Victory. But Mr Trump’s committee only saw $5,600 of that sum as its the legal maximum for a primary and general election combined.
Rebekah Mercer, on the other hand, has not donated anything to Mr Trump’s bid for a second term.
The lack of these key backers doesn’t mean the president doesn’t have cash on hand to get him through the next three months of the election run. His campaign reported he had $113m to spend on 30 June.
In comparison, the Biden campaign revealed it had $109m on hand when entering the month of July, as the Democratic nominee has boosted his fundraising efforts in recent months to compete against Mr Trump.
If the Mercer family were to decide to back the Trump campaign late into his election efforts, it was expressed now was the time if they wanted their funding to have any positive impact on the campaign. But so far, it has appeared these contributions are unlikely.

Hitman kills son of judge overseeing Deutsche Bank-Epstein trial

An assassin posing as a FedEx driver shot and killed the 20-year-old son of a federal judge in North Brunswick on Sunday, and badly wounded her husband.
The judge in question is Esther Salas. Earlier in the week, she was assigned to oversee a lawsuit brought by investors against Deutsche Bank over its involvement in the handling of financial matters related to sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.
The motive for the shooting is unclear. On Sunday evening, federal law enforcement asked for the public's help in solving the crime.

On Monday afternoon, multiple news reports cited police sources suggesting a deceased lawyer is a prime suspect in the case. The lawyer—who allegedly was a men's rights activist with a case before the judge—was reportedly found dead hours after the shortage, and was in the possession of a package addressed to the judge.
In the lawsuit against Deutsche Bank, investors claim they lost money as a result of the financial giant having to pay regulators $150 million for compliance failures related to Epstein. The disgraced financier was arrested for sex trafficking of minors in 2019. He died in a Manhattan jail cell last August in an apparent suicide.
According to ABC News, the attack on Salas's family occurred when her son, Daniel Aderl, or husband, Mark Anderl, opened the door to what appeared to be a FedEx deliveryman. The son, a student at Catholic University, was shot through the heart, while the husband is in the hospital.
Some have speculated on Twitter that the attack may not be related to Judge Salas's involvement in the Epstein case, but rather to her husband's work as a criminal defense attorney.

“On July 4, David Glosser, the brother of Miller’s mother, posted a Facebook note announcing the death of his mother, Ruth Glosser, who was Miller’s maternal grandmother:
‘This morning my mother, Ruth Glosser, died of the late effects of COVID-19 like so many thousands of other people; both young and old. She survived the acute infection but was left with lung and neurological damage that destroyed her will to eat and her ability to breathe well enough to sustain arousal and consciousness. Over an 8-week period she gradually slipped away and died peacefully this morning.’
David Glosser is a retired neuropsychologist and passionate Trump critic who has publicly decried Miller for his anti-immigrant policies, and he contends that Trump’s initial “lack of a response” to the coronavirus crisis led to the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans who might have otherwise survived. In an interview, he says, “With the death of my mother, I’m angry and outraged at [Miller] directly and the administration he has devoted his energy to supporting.”
In response to a request seeking comment from Miller, a White House spokesperson sent Mother Jones this statement:
‘This is categorically false, and a disgusting use of so-called journalism when the family deserves privacy to mourn the loss of a loved one. His grandmother did not pass away from COVID. She was diagnosed with COVID in March and passed away in July so that timeline does not add up at all. His grandmother died peacefully in her sleep from old age. I would hope that you would choose not to go down this road.’
Glosser, a former health professional, posted his mother’s death announcement on a public Facebook page. Responding to the White House statement, he writes in an email, “Keeping the tragic facts about COVID deaths of our countrymen and women, young and old, from the American public serves no purpose other than to obscure the need for a coherent national, scientifically based, public health response to save others from this disease. My mother led a long, satisfying, productive life of family and community service. She had nothing to be ashamed of, and concealing her cause of death to offer ‘privacy’ to me, our family, her hundreds of relatives and friends, does nothing to assuage our regret at her loss.”
Moreover, Ruth Glosser’s death certificate—which her son shared with Mother Jones—lists her cause of death as “respiratory arrest” resulting from “COVID-19.”

November 9, 1938
This was the night known by many as
Kristallnacht
If that word is unfamiliar to you, it was the night when hundreds of secret police were ordered by Adolph Hitler to go into Jewish neighborhoods in Germany and, without cause, beat, apprehend, arrest, and incarcerate hundreds of Jews, and destroy as much property as possible while doing it. Kristallnacht in English means "The Night of Broken Glass".
Although it is not yet on the same scale as the German version, the United States has just experienced its own version of Kristallnacht in Portland, Oregon. Against the demands of the Governor and Mayor, Donald Trump has sent his own gestapo, a secret police force complete with military uniforms without insignias or identification, military equipment, and unmarked rental vehicles to incarcerate American citizens exercising their Constitutional right to protest.
The American Furer ordered his gestapo to gas, beat, apprehend and incarcerate citizens of the United States without identifying themselves, without cause, without notifying them of their violation or their rights. They are no better than Nazis.
If you can still support this administration after this, then you must be a nazi as well, because Americans fought in a World War and thousands died to stop this exact horror.
Supporting an administration that can do this is spitting in the face of every veteran of World War II.

tRUMP'S GESTAPO!

UNFIT TO SERVE!

Mentally ill, DELUSIONAL, IRRATIONAL, some blame drug addiction...

Protests in Portland, Oregon, have been a nightly occurrence for more than fifty days now to address police violence toward Black Americans. So, of course, our authoritarian president applauded the federal officers his administration unleashed on the crowd, some of the victims pregnant women who were tear-gassed. One man, a Navy veteran, said, “I was going to ask why they weren’t living up to their oath of office, the Constitution. All I wanted to do was ask them why?” Instead, the feds broke Chris Davis’s hand in two places.

Donald Trump has failed to call out systematic racism following George Floyd’s murder by police officers. America is at a tipping point as citizens are trying to deal with a number of national crises. Trump spoke to reporters at the White House, and just as the president surrendered to the coronavirus, he surrendered to the civil unrest. The feds’ response to protesters has been slammed, but Trump praised their brutal crackdown on demonstrators.

“We’re going to have more federal law enforcement … in Portland, they’ve done a fantastic job … no problem,” Trump insisted. “They grab ’em, a lot of people in jail … these are people that hate our country.”

137,000 DEAD AMERICANS & BRAIN DEAD REPUBLICANS are doing what?

Trump’s speech was slurred once again and he appeared to be under pressure as he spewed out one lie after another. What we’re saying here is the shit is hitting the fan and at some point, even Trump’s supporters are going to realize that this can’t go on much longer. Trump exposes his own lies by repeatedly changing his version of events. Trump asked reporters for questions about the economy in an attempt to avoid any questions over his latest scandal but that didn’t work out too well — reporters did ask Trump about his Ukraine scandal.
Now the networks need to do this during all of Trump’s briefings, too. The president has been misinforming the public amid the pandemic while people are dying.

A Network Anchor Cut Away From Donald Trump’s News Briefing: “We Hate To Do This, But The President Isn’t Telling The Truth”

This should happen every time he lies.

The current occupant of the White House has a long history of lying. The media might call his lies “misspeaking” or “falsehoods,” but they’re straight-up lies. The media needs to call him out more and stop normalizing Donald Trump’s attempts to gaslight the public. Also, listening to his blatant lies is exhausting and infuriating.

MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace showed us how it’s done when she cut the president off on Deadline in the middle of his news conference in which he repeatedly lied in order to defend himself against his latest scandal. Wallace wasn’t having any of it as she said, “We hate to do this, but the president isn’t telling the truth … what Trump appears to be trying to do is to turn his own impeachment into a big deflection.”

The media has covered for Trump long enough, even correcting his typos as if they never happened, but the president was shifting the blame of his own actions once again on his rival Joe Biden’s son.

Watch Wallace cut him off:
Like Wallace, her co-anchor rightfully noted that Biden’s son was cleared of any wrongdoing by Ukraine’s top prosecutor. It’s an easy thing to Google. Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko said Hunter Biden and Joe Biden didn’t act improperly, the latter of whom called for the dismissal of Ukraine’s former prosecutor-general. The prosecutor that Trump seems to be defending was known to be corrupt. Biden pushed for him to be ousted over his corruption and nothing more.
Here’s a tweet that describes Trump’s shitshow press conference perfectly:
