Great News That’s Terrible For Trump and His Cult

Great News That’s Terrible For Trump and His Cult

Onward!

Before we start another week of the Musk and Trump dumpster fire circus act, I’m glad to have plenty of good news for you today. I hope it provides you with a sense of relief, as it does for me. And shows you there are amazing people fighting the maga cult alongside us.

On April 5th, there are massive rallies planned across the country via a coalition of 83 organizations. This includes international labor unions like CWA and SEIU, as well as progressive groups like MoveOn, Indivisible, and DemCast. The event, billed as “Hands Off!” currently has a list of 514 actions planned.

All across America this weekend, at town halls and protests, tens of thousands of people stood up to Trump and DOGE.

Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders finished off the first leg of their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour Saturday—as 23,000 people showed up to rally in Tucson, AZ. In total, the five high-energy events had more than 86,000 people turn out. Denver’s rally was the largest held in the city since 2008.

“We need to be taxing the rich on the floor of the United States Congress,” AOC told the roaring crowd. “ ... And we're going to send a message to Donald Trump and Elon Musk, and every Republican in the state of Arizona, that we will not be distracted. We got our eyes on the prize, and we will build the nation that we want for ourselves.”

Sanders slammed Trump, saying: “We don't want a king in the United States, we overthrew our king. We want a vibrant democracy, not all power resting in the hands of one person.”

MN Gov. Tim Walz held another town hall, this time in Rochester, MN—where GOP Rep. Brad Finstad refuses to do in-person town halls of his own. Walz went after Elon, telling the crowd of at least 1,500 people: “We need to make the public understand how truly unpopular this guy is … and we make it a liability.” In response to Walz’s event, Finstad confirmed he has no in-person town halls planned, but said he’s willing to do a cowardly meeting over the phone.

Empty-seat town halls continue to result in terrible PR for Republicans who refuse to meet with their constituents. At a North Carolina event, there was an empty chair which featured a picture of GOP Sen. Thom Tillis with the word “missing” across it.

Wiley Nickel, a fmr. US Rep. who might be the Dem challenger to Tillis in 2026, said: “Tonight was just about a democracy that’s bending, not breaking, and what I got to see here was hundreds and hundreds of people speaking out, asking for real leadership in Washington.”

I rarely share polls here, because a lot of them are bogus. But according to the numbers, it appears that JD Vance is the most disliked VP in in the history of US polling.

Lastly, yesterday, AOC called out the maga cult for “lying to and screwing over working and middle-class Americans,” and stealing from “our Veterans to provide tax cuts for the rich, and bailouts for their crypto-billionaire friends.”

AOC is absolutely right. And that’s why The Dworkin Report is taking on all of these maga liars at a constant. We cut through Trump’s lies and propaganda, to deliver the truth. Unlike corporate media, we’ll never bow down to this wannabe-king, and we have no billionaires who can block our stories.

We are proudly independent, pro-democracy journalists, who have been working tirelessly against Trump for 9 years. We’ve made countless calls and sent more than 225,000 letters to Congress via our activism arm—The Watchdog Coalition—to defend Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
