Rep. Casar and the Fight Against Trump’s Billionaire Oligarchy
My interview with Congressman Greg Casar
Hey everyone, Ben Meiselas here. I just had a powerful conversation with Congressman Greg Casar that I think every single person in this country needs to hear.
We broke down what’s really going on behind Donald Trump’s so-called “momentum.” You’ve got Trump’s half-billionaire Treasury Secretary smugly declaring, “We’re on a roll!” while the rest of America struggles to afford groceries. And where is he making that declaration from? His $22 million mansion. These people aren’t even pretending to hide their contempt for working people anymore—they’re flaunting it.
Greg Casar nailed it: when oligarchs start bragging that everything’s great while the rest of us suffer, history shows what comes next—economic crashes, deeper inequality, and devastation for everyday families. This is exactly what we’re seeing again with Trump and his billionaire buddies like Elon Musk trying to run the country for their own gain.
Casar is on the front lines of the Fight the Oligarchy Tour alongside Bernie Sanders and AOC, going into red and purple districts with a simple, honest message: the real moochers aren’t seniors getting $65 a day from Social Security—it’s Elon Musk raking in $8 million a day in government contracts while calling your benefits a Ponzi scheme.
Let that sink in.
If you’re wondering why your costs are going up, your wages are stagnant, and your government isn’t working for you—it’s because Trump and his cronies are looting the place while you’re stuck footing the bill. And then they have the audacity to say you should be grateful for it.
Casar laid it out clearly: Democrats can’t play dead anymore. We have to fight. We have to name names. We have to say it out loud—Trump is corrupt, Musk is corrupt, and they want you to give up so they can take everything. But if we organize, if we speak out, if we push back—we can build a movement and win. History proves it.
The fight is ahead is about whether government belongs to the people or to a handful of self-dealing billionaires who want to turn this country into their own private playground. So let’s get loud. Let’s get organized. And let’s fight like hell for a government that works for all of us—not just the ultra-rich few.
