Trump is coming for VA healthcare and Medicaid - Here’s how we fight back!

 

Trump and his billionaire buddies are at it again – this time, coming after VA healthcare and Medicaid. Veterans, working families, and seniors who rely on these programs are now at risk of losing critical benefits.   As a veteran, I know firsthand what it’s like to serve this country and then have to fight again just to get the benefits we were promised. They sent us to war, broke our bodies, and now they want to cut our healthcare?   Not on my watch.   That’s why I’m officially launching my campaign for Congress in NC-09 to fight back, to call out corruption, and to put working people first. Because if we don’t step up, they’ll keep stepping on us.

DEFEND OUR VETERANS

And here’s the thing: this district is ripe for change. The GOP incumbent, Richard Hudson, is a Trump bootlicker who’s never here and does NOTHING for us. I know because this is my home. And I’m telling you – MAGA’s grip is slipping. Our district is changing, our diversity is growing, and we have a real shot to take this seat back.   But here’s the truth: launching this campaign takes resources. We’re up against a MAGA machine backed by billionaire donors who want to keep power in the hands of the few. They will spend whatever it takes to stop us.   We don’t have Wall Street or corporate PACs. We have you. And if we’re going to flip this seat, we need to come out swinging.   So I’m asking: will you chip in $25 today to fuel this campaign from Day One? Every dollar helps us reach more voters, build this movement, and take the fight straight to Washington.

And it’s not just veterans — millions of families, seniors, and children depend on Medicaid for care. These cuts would devastate rural hospitals, working parents, and people with disabilities who rely on these programs to survive.   We have to fight back. My friend is a VETERAN, served in OKINAWA exploding ordinance & has a profound hearing loss as a consequence, along with other issues.  He was in a VA HOSPITAL receiving superlative care.  Another patient overheard me speaking to the doctor, overheard my name & called out to me.  A friend from years ago with METASTATIC CANCER from VIETNAM!  Too young to leave us!  NOTE that USAID funding to clean up AGENT ORANGE in VIETNAM was SLASHED & workers abruptly stopped leaving AGENT ORANGE exposed during VIETNAM'S rainy season to wash into rivers & spread the contamination.  Because I was there for several visits, I heard the caregivers who were absolutely WONDERFUL!  Spent lots of caring time with him. We've witnessed those in constant pain, in wheelchairs, with amputations....only another Veteran can understand & offer the kindness, patience & respect they deserve.  This is not SLAP/DASH medical care because there are wounds you don't see!  Because the injuries are specific to COMBAT, a great deal of VETERAN SPECIFIC RESEARCH has been conducted such as PTSD & EXPLOSIVE IMPACT INJURIES. That research will NEVER be done outside of the VA.  We sent our HEROES overseas & exposed them to TOXINS, BURN PITS, forced too many to be repeatedly sent into combat.... This nation owes a DEBT!   MEDICAID!  I have a friend with 3 ADULT DISABLED CHILDREN who are able to live independently in their own apartments with HEALTH AIDS who come in daily for care.   There are SENIOR ADULTS who are able to stay in their homes with just a little help. It's cheaper than the  alternatives.  How shortsighted are these CLOWNS?  PLEASE! PLEASE! Keep screaming as you surely will!  The NATIONAL BUDGET defines a nation!  MORAL DEPRAVITY defines a nation that SLASHES FOOD for HUNGRY AMERICANS!
