AG Pam Bondi Isn’t Filing Criminal Charges, It’s Just A Lawsuit But it's still dangerous Scott Dworkin Feb 13 Yesterday, AG Pam Bondi—one of Trump’s biggest cult followers—held a dramatic press conference to make a “big” announcement. Strutting out to the podium with that smarmy maga swagger, Bondi said: “We have filed charges against the state of New York, we have filed charges against Kathy Hochul, we have filed charges against Letitia James and Mark Schroeder.” Using the word “charges,” Bondi seemed to be insinuating that criminal charges were filed—giving the impression that NY Gov. Kathy Hochul, NY AG Letitia James, and others were going to be arrested. I can confirm there have been no criminal charges filed. No one is getting arrested for this, because it’s a civil lawsuit. The whole PR stunt was a dangerous charade to smear Democrats, as part of Trump’s demented revenge tour. Of course, corporate media took the bait and did exactly what Trump wanted. NBC News, Newsweek, and others ran ridiculous headlines repeating the word “charges.” The Trump base went nuts with this propaganda on social media, especially on Twitter/X. Sharing AI images of Hochul and James behind bars, some of the biggest maga accounts called the announcement “earth shattering,” and said “the hammer of justice is swinging.” They even praised Bondi for going “scorched earth.” Wrong, all wrong. These are the kind of menacing attacks we can expect from the Trump Administration and his rabid cult. Hochul’s response says it all: “We expect Pam Bondi's worthless, publicity-driven lawsuit to be a total failure, just like all the others.
