In the aftermath of multiple mass shootings in the past week, Maxwell confronted Gov. Ron DeSantis on stage at an event and urged him to take action on gun violence. 100 people die a day from gun violence. Children are dying. Floridians are dying. And all Ron DeSantis had to say was, “Nobody wants to hear from you”. We need our leaders to step up at this moment, because someone is planning the next shooting right now. We need leaders like Maxwell. He’s been on the frontlines against the gun violence epidemic for a decade as a survivor, activist, and as the National Organizing Director for March for our Lives. That’s why Maxwell is running for Congress in FL-10. He won’t stop fighting until the senseless shootings stop.
We can’t wait any longer for the next mass shooting to happen. The time is NOW to pass meaningful legislation to end this epidemic of gun violence. That’s why we need a gun violence prevention champion like Maxwell in Congress. He became a gun violence prevention advocate because of Sandy Hook. Three years later, he became a survivor himself shortly before the Pulse shooting. He's now running for congress because our leaders have failed to protect human lives in the interest of gun manufacturers. Leaders here in Florida rather ban books, history, and queer people before they do anything to stop this senseless violence. We need REAL leadership that puts human lives before gun lobby money. Our lives depend on it.
