All across the country today we have primaries for bold candidates for District Attorney – including in California! But while we support today’s final efforts to get out the vote, we have no time to lose preparing for the battles ahead.
Below I will share my thoughts about the one thing I am following the most today. But first, I need to ask if you can make a contribution to help Real Justice prepare for the challenges we face next.
Will you chip in to help us elect 4 more DA candidates this summer and prepare for more races this November? These fights will be very difficult, and we need all the support we can get.
The one thing I am following the most today is Prop H in San Francisco, where billionaires, conservatives, and corrupt tech leaders have banded together, and donated millions of dollars, to stop San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin.
It's a waste and an abomination that it has even gotten this far. Not only is Chesa a brilliant DA, he's a good, ethical, moral human being.
Conservative Californians continue to abuse the recall system when they can't win in the general elections. There have been dozens of recalls across the state. It's a waste of time and money. If you have beef with Chesa, run against him when his time is up.
Chesa grew up with both of his parents in jail. He was a public defender and fought for the most vulnerable. He has kept his promises to hold police accountable and exonerate innocent people that have been convicted.
Even though nearly all of his time as DA has been during the pandemic, he has risen to that challenge with integrity. He has done so much to keep people safe and fought for ALL of us to have real justice.
If you are in San Francisco, or know somebody who is, PLEASE encourage them to vote NO on Prop H to stop the recall of Chesa Boudin. This is very close, so every vote counts.
Let’s hope that tomorrow we have good news – and then get back to work for our next races coming up later this month, August, September, and then November.
Take care,
Shaun
