Georgia can only thrive when the moms of Georgia can succeed

 

My mom is the best person I’ve ever known. She is good, kind and moral. Her compassion is contagious. This Mother’s Day, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that Georgia can only thrive when the mothers in our state are set up to succeed.

I am running for governor to help mothers who, like my mom, face challenges that prevent their families from dreaming big and moving forward — whether that’s access to quality education for their kids or affordable health care for their families or jobs that pay a living wage so they can put food on the table. I’m fighting for them.

Will you pitch in $5 or whatever you can right now to power a campaign that’s committed to opening the gates of opportunity for all of Georgia’s mothers and their families?

Where we begin should not determine where we finish. As she raised me and my five siblings, my mom worked hard and still struggled to pay bills, to secure the best possible education for us and to achieve the American Dream. But she taught us that the keys to success are faith, family, service, education and responsibility. And she showed my siblings and me that we are responsible for making the world fairer, wherever and whenever we can.

That is why I’m running for governor. Because I want to serve moms all over the state — moms who work hard, who make big sacrifices to give their children a better life, but who have dealt with forces beyond their control and people in power so removed from their realities that they don’t see the barriers that moms and families face every day.

My vision for One Georgia puts moms and families front and center, and it is a vision in which every family in this state has the opportunity to thrive. But I need you standing with me to make that vision real. Please donate $5 or whatever you can to help elect a governor who knows that Georgia only succeeds when Georgia moms succeed.

My own mom is why I know we can build a better future for Georgia, and why as Governor, I will work tirelessly to achieve it. My campaign is about believing that our capacity to succeed is limitless if we fight for every Georgian the way she fought for me, the way so many mothers across Georgia fight for their kids.
