All of us at Brand New Congress are saddened that we didn’t get the outcome we were hoping for in Ohio.
Both Nina Turner and Morgan Harper are powerful, brilliant leaders in the movement. They each ran principled, spirited campaigns and organized new communities of voters.
We are immensely grateful for their leadership and look forward to continuing our collaboration with them in whatever they choose to do next.
Now, we have to look ahead, because with less than two weeks to go before our next elections, there's a lot of ground to cover. Coming up, we’ve got:
- May 17th - SIX BNC candidates are on the ballot in four states: Charles Booker (U.S. Senate), Erica Smith (NC-01), Nida Allam (NC-04), Doyle Canning (OR-04), Jerry Dickinson (PA-12), and Malcolm Kenyatta (U.S. Senate).
- May 24th - Jessica Cisneros faces Henry Cuellar – a corrupt, anti-abortion Democrat – in the runoff for TX-28.
- June 7th - Four more BNC candidates are up for vote in three states: Angélica Dueñas (CA-29), Shervin Aazami (CA-32), Tom Winter (MT-01), and Imani Oakley (NJ-10).
- June 14th - Amy Vilela is facing an entrenched, establishment incumbent in NV-01.
...and more.
These 12 upcoming elections are just a portion of the campaigns we have ahead. The best way to support our work, and help these candidates win, is through a monthly sustaining contribution to BNC.
Our average monthly donation is just $14, and it is the lifeblood of our work. Would you consider signing up for a monthly donation in any amount now?
→ Yes, I will become a monthly contributor!
Monthly contributions from small dollar donors helped BNC elect AOC, Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, Rashida Tlaib, and now Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick.
Last year Brand New Congress was the ONLY national organization to support Sheila in her bid for the FL-20 special election. Sheila won that primary by FIVE votes thanks to BNC’s early support – and now she’s in Congress.
While things didn’t go as we hoped in Ohio, there is still so much good we can do. We need to beef up our capacity now to help our candidates succeed.
One-time contributions started to fall off in April, so it’s really important that we build up our base of recurring contributions to support our work through these kinds of downturns.
Will you commit to becoming a recurring donor today?
