Dear Democrats, After years of pushing their radical, anti-choice agenda, Republicans, thanks to extremist conservative justices on the Supreme Court, are closer than ever to overturning Roe v. Wade and stripping away tens of millions of Americans’ control over their own bodies. If Roe is overturned, there will be devastating consequences for our reproductive rights and health care access. This attack on our fundamental right to make our own health care decisions is wildly unpopular. Americans say Roe v. Wade should be upheld by about a 2-1 margin. This shows just how out-of-touch Republicans are. The Supreme Court has upheld precedent and protected access to safe, legal abortions for almost 50 years. Now, due to extremist Republicans and right wing justices on the Supreme Court, women all over the country could lose access to the health care that they need. Let’s be very clear: ending Roe does not end abortions. It ends access to safe and legal abortions for vulnerable communities nationwide. It means as many as 26 states could move quickly to ban abortion – including 13 states with “trigger” laws that could immediately go into effect – leaving tens of millions of Americans without control over their own bodies.  We are facing a pivotal moment for abortion access in our country and this November, we must work together to elect more Democrats who will fight for the fundamental rights of all. You are at the forefront of this fight to protect basic human rights and elect representatives that understand the needs of their constituents. Voters will make their voices heard and Democrats will fight back with everything we have to elect pro-choice leaders at every level of government. It’s time for all of us to do our part.
