The day we’ve all feared has finally come. An illegitimate and extremist Supreme Court has revoked the right to an abortion, immediately making the life-saving healthcare procedure illegal in 13 states. Many more are expected to follow suit in the couple weeks.
While it’s tempting to give into despair, there are far too many people out there who need our help NOW before it’s too late. The burden of these bans will inevitably fall the hardest on poor, disenfranchised pregnant people, many of them people of color, and it’s not too late to help them get the abortion healthcare they need.

In the face of seemingly insurmountable opposition, our unified vision of solidarity with each other and our ironclad dedication to keep fighting are our biggest strengths. They want us to believe all is lost, to hide in the shadows and give up, turning inward to ourselves and forgetting about the millions of pregnant people who don’t have the luxury of tuning out and withdrawing.
All across the country, people are hard at work setting up emergency funds and making sure providers and patients have the resources they need for their abortion healthcare. The work they are doing is critically important, and we need to show our support.
