Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton is joining us for a virtual town hall on DC Statehood tomorrow from 8:30-9:30 p.m. ET. Can you attend? Right now, nearly 700,000 residents of DC, over 45% of whom are Black, have no voting representation in Congress. DC Statehood is a racial justice issue, and we can not have representation and equal justice for all without statehood for DC. But many members of Congress are opposed to letting the people of DC govern themselves — we need a massive outpouring of support if we’re going to make DC Statehood a reality!
That’s why we’re partnering with DC Vote for a virtual event which includes Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, statehood activist Jamal Holtz, and Lourdes Robinson and Addison Rose from DC Youth Mayors.
Join this virtual town hall to hear from movement leaders on the importance of DC Statehood for the health of our democracy, and learn how you can take action. RSVP to join us on Tuesday, May 10, from 8:30-9:30 p.m. ET/ 5:30-6:30 p.m. PT. In community, Sav Public Citizen |
