I’m Kina Collins, and I’m running for Congress in Illinois’s 7th District.
We need bold, unapologetic, progressive advocates in Congress. People who are willing to fight for climate justice and for policies that prioritize saving our earth. Congressman Danny Davis — who has been representing this district since I was five years old — is not that leader.
But don’t just take it from me — in a recent town hall debate, I was proud to highlight my support for a Green New Deal and the Sunrise Movement’s endorsement of my campaign — to which Davis responded he was endorsed by “real” climate groups — not ones “nobody has heard of.”
Excuse me, is Danny Davis serious? A real climate leader would fight alongside the movement and share their record of fighting for climate action, not respond by putting down one of the leading movements to stop the climate crisis.
If you’re ready to add another Green New Deal champion to Congress and bring real representation to IL-07, will you split a $10 contribution between my campaign and Sunrise today? Every dollar helps us reach more voters ahead of the June 28 primary election:
I began organizing in the wake of Laquan McDonald’s murder in 2015. I believe strongly in the power of movements to transform our neighborhoods.
My district, which lives with immense inequality, deserves a congressional leader who’s lived in the poorest area of their district, shares their needs, and will fight for them in Congress. I’m ready to be that leader.
Meanwhile, my opponent has failed to show up for his community, cozying up with the establishment status quo. While he rakes in corporate PAC money from Amazon, I’m proud to join in solidarity with Amazon workers.
We have a choice. Corporations or people. It’s time we show the strength of our movement in IL-07. Will you split a $10 contribution between my campaign and Sunrise today so we have the resources to win in June?
Thank you for everything,
Kina Collins
