How do you debate a megalomaniac? 🧠Drawing what is going on in Trump's brain... MARK FIORE JUN 27 Hi friends! We are fast approaching the day of the debate between President Biden and Convict-in-Chief, Donald Trump. Personally, I think it’s unpresidential to debase yourself by being on the same stage as a convicted felon who tried to overturn democracy, but Biden is apparently up for it. Trump has mocked Joe Biden for preparing for the debate, so how does the Inciter-in-Chief prepare? Something tells me all of his debate preparation happens inside his head — which is no doubt far more twisted than what is depicted in this cartoon. (But, hey, I’m trying to keep things light today.) And as some of you may know, I’m a sucker for drawing brains, whether it’s in an animation or in a single-panel cartoon like this one. What I (and other people who want to keep democracy a going concern) am watching for in this debate are largely as follows: How bonkers Trump will look and sound Can Biden goad Trump into looking even more unhinged than usual What new conspiracies and extra-loud dogwhistles will Trump employ How stable Joe Biden looks walking across the stage Maybe some actual policy discussion (hah, as if!) Chances are, the people who already like Trump will think he did an amazing job and the people who like Biden will think he seemed much more presidential and sane. Let’s leave it at that for now, no more predictions or crystal ball-gazing.
