Our opponent, Congressman Jim Jordan was handed a massive defeat this week thanks to a ruling by the conservative U.S. Supreme Court relating to online COVID-19 misinformation. Describing this massive defeat for Jordan and his campaign to defend the extreme-right’s ability to spread misinformation, Democratic Congressman Jerry Nadler, stated "As expected, the Supreme Court has issued a stinging rebuke to Jim Jordan and his multimillion-dollar conspiracy theory filed witch hunt."

The Court came to the conclusion that the when social media platforms suppressed dangerous COVID-19 misinfo they 'excised their own judgment' - a slap in the face for Jordan’s conspiracy theory which posited that there was a massive government led conspiracy to silence conservative voices online - exactly what the dozens of witnesses that Jim Jordan has dragged before this committee testified. COVID-19 misinformation was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans. We cannot allow Jordan to have two more years to plunge this nation deeper into chaos and instability.
