UPDATE: The FERC comment over, but our work isn't

EARTHJUSTICE | BECAUSE THE EARTH NEEDS A GOOD LAWYER

The FERC comment period is closed, and 17,000 Earthjustice supporters showed up to support climate action.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission just wrapped up its comment period for two important rulemakings.
It might not seem like it, but action takers played a critical role in this effort. After I submitted the comments of Earthjustice supporters, FERC notified me each time a new organization or company submitted comments. The large volume of comments from the trade groups and corporate lobbyists made it clear to me how important it was for FERC to hear from people like you.
While it’s frustrating to see the fossil fuel industry mobilize against even the most basic, common-sense regulations, I’m inspired by all the advocates, who took the time to push back and remind FERC that it needs to serve the public interest.
So, thank you for being a part of this fight. We’ll keep you informed if there’s another opportunity to engage with FERC in the future, but in the meantime, we need folks to file a public comment with the EPA to urge it to implement the “Good Neighbor Rule,” which makes sure industrial polluters keep their pollution in check. The rule will deliver massive benefits for public health and the environment once it’s implemented, including 1,000 avoided premature deaths annually, and 1.3 million fewer asthma attacks annually. The comment period ends in a few days — help us show the EPA that people are counting on it to do the right thing.
