Pregnant, emaciated and riddled with parasites

PASS THE PUPPY PROTECTION ACT Pearl was emaciated and riddled with parasites when authorities rescued her from a puppy mill in North Carolina. She was also pregnant with seven puppies—four of whom died at birth. If you want to stop cruelty like this, urge your legislators to support the Puppy Protection Act now! Although Pearl was not rescued from a USDA-licensed facility, which the Puppy Protection Act targets, there are countless mother dogs just like her who suffer every day at USDA-licensed puppy mills, giving birth to litter after litter of puppies before their bodies give out and end up abandoned or killed because they can no longer produce. The Puppy Protection Act would help by requiring breeders who are federally-licensed to look for permanent homes and limit breeding for dogs like Pearl, as well as raising the minimum standards for cage size, flooring material, food and water, veterinary care and more—but we need you to take action today to help to pass it. Speak up for puppies and mother dogs like Pearl by taking action and urging your legislators to support, and do everything they can to pass, the Puppy Protection Act!
