This isn’t just a vote of confidence — it’s an obligation that we have to live up to. Here’s what I think it means: You want a genuine approach to leadership. That’s the core of it, and it comes with certain pieces. You don’t get genuine leadership without honesty, without decency, without knowing what you’re talking about, or without really listening. On the one hand, that seems like a low bar to clear. On the other hand, given the general state of politics these days, clearing that bar by a comfortable margin might do wonders to help raise our expectations for elected officials going forward. It would be an incredible honor to serve this district — but it would be even better to do so in a way that raises your expectations for future leaders. That’s my goal, and if it’s what you believe in, then I’m asking you to chip in and help make it happen.
