Goodbye, farewell, GET OUT

Common Defense

This week was huge for Common Defense and our country.

In what can only be called an instant improvement to the fabric and reputation of the United States, perpetual embarrassment, Congressman Madison Cawthorn lost his primary and will no longer represent North Carolina's 11th District.

That's right, the guy who faked getting admitted to the Naval Academy, brought a gun on the floor of the House, and encouraged folks to storm the capitol will no longer serve in Congress.

We'd say “goodbye” or “farewell” but we wouldn't mean it. What we want to say is, “get out and take the other traitors with you” – we're looking at you Marjorie Taylor Green, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar, and so many more.

But, the fight isn't over. Even though Cawthorn was shown the door, in Pennsylvania Doug Mastriano was chosen as the Republican nominee for governor. He organized bus rides to the January 6th insurrection, is a COVID denier, and, unsurprisingly, still thinks the 2020 election was stolen.

It's like playing whack-a-mole only with traitors to our country.

As you can see we still have work to do. So, can we count on you to chip in right now and help to keep traitors like Cawthorn and Mastriano out of elected office?

DONATE

There's also plenty of good news. Chris Deluzio, a Common Defense-endorsed Navy veteran, Veterans Organizing Institute alum, and civil rights lawyer, won his primary and will be the Democratic nominee for Congress in Pennsylvania's 17th Congressional district.

We're ready to stand by his side as he fights to win in November. And we hope you'll have our back by making a small donation of $15 – or whatever you can – today.

Thank you,

Common Defense
