This past weekend, Jamaal joined our communities to help boost city-wide mutual aid projects that help better our neighborhoods.
From food banks to Easter giveaways, we on Team Bowman know that each is a new day to reaffirm ourselves to uplifting mutual aid and work together to build the communities we deserve. And it's on us to continue seizing every opportunity to step up and build up the resources for those who need our support the most.
Over the weekend, Team Bowman partnered with Feeding Westchester and Westchester Latinos Unidos to do some much needed, good work in Mount Vernon.
Feeding Westchester leads hunger action programs and mobilizes the resources needed to eradicate hunger in Westchester County. We're honored to be a part of this bold movement to not only address food insecurity in NY-16, but to proactively find solutions and provide support for those who are affected.
And in preparation for Holy Week this week, Jamaal also spent an afternoon in New Rochelle for an Annual Easter giveaway hosted by Big Viv's Foundation.
Founded in 2012, Big Viv's foundation set out with a goal to provide resources to the next generation of young adults. Their work strives to create opportunities for children to build relationships with scholars, politicians, entrepreneurs, and elders in their communities and inspire many to bridge generational wealth and teach the youth how to redevelop their communities.
We need leaders who are not only willing, but excited to go out into our communities and lend a helping hand to those who are doing the on-the-ground work to better our city. Let's make sure that we can continue our dedicated work towards building a stronger, more inclusive NY-16 — together. Chip in today so we can continue building up our community to be one rooted in compassion and partnership.
In solidarity,
Team Bowman
