From Mosul to Raqqa to
Mariupol, Killing Civilians is a Crime
by Medea Benjamin and Nicolas J. S. Davies

Americans have been shocked by the death and destruction of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, filling our screens with bombed buildings and dead bodies lying in the street. But the United States and its allies have waged war in country after country for decades, carving swathes of destruction through cities, towns and villages on a far greater scale than has so far disfigured Ukraine.

by Brian Victoria

Today, as war between the US, now allied with Japan, and China looms ever closer over Taiwan’s future, the question must be asked, are the people of both the US and Japan condemned to repeat a past the true nature of which neither of them has fully understood?

Climate Inequality– Poorer People Exposed Much More in Overheated Cities
by Bharat Dogra

As the world heats up with climate change, urban areas with their dense habitations, traffic congestions, higher pollution levels and excessive cement and concrete invariably heat up more than rural areas. What is less realized is that within a single city certain areas can heat up much more than others, and the difference can be as high as 10 degrees Celsius, or even more. As
several recent research studies have shown, these hot spots are invariably the more crowded, less green areas inhabited by the poorer sections.

Attempts by RSS to present Ambedkar as a Hindutva supporter
by SR Darapuri

According to a newspaper, this time the RSS is going to do a big program to connect the Dalits. According to this, for the first time on Ambedkar Jayanti, flowers will be offered on photographs in branches across the country. On Ambedkar
Jayanti i.e., on April 14, especially those statements of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in which Hindutva is strengthened with patriotism, will be told in the branches.  Sangh will explain Ambedkar’s Hindutva in 11 points. Therefore, it is necessary to analyse the right or wrong of the views/points being propagated/disseminated by the Sangh. From this point of view, it is necessary to comment on the 11 points chosen by the Sangh to explain Ambedkar’s Hindutva, which is as follows

More Trouble for Metro Rail in Indian Cities
by Vidyadhar Date

The Metro rail network is failing miserably in different cities. In Bangalore steps to check the falling ridership of Namma Metro are not helping. Its daily pass scheme too has drawn poor response. In a city of millions, only four people bought a three day pass costing Rs 400 on April 5. With the pass you can travel any number of times on the Metro.

Decades, centuries kept intent intact.
And, still it calls us, stone by stone,
To eke out meaning from mere fact.

Communal Cards Targeting Women!
by Nilofar Suhrawardy

Anti-Muslim noise raised in Karnataka is just a mild indicator of this being a part of certain right-elements’ communal campaign ahead of coming
elections. Not much needs to be said about this being directed towards gaining media attention as well as hoping to please top most leaders holding similar communal views.
