Over 600,000 mail-in ballots sent to Massachusetts voters
excerpt:
BOSTON (WWLP) – More than 600,000 mail-in ballots have been sent to Massachusetts voters ahead of the November 3 state election.
The distribution comes four weeks ahead of Election Day as officials process requests statewide. Voters who have applied for a mail-in ballot can track its status online at VoteInMA.com and should expect delivery within seven days of mailing, according to the U.S. Postal Service.
Voters who have not yet applied for a mail-in ballot must submit their application by 5 p.m. on October 27. Submissions are accepted online, by mail, or in person, though mailed applications must arrive at local election offices by the deadline.
Returned ballots can be placed in secure drop boxes located across most cities and towns, which transfer ballots directly to local election offices. Locations for drop boxes are published on VoteInMA.com. Ballots may also be returned directly to local election offices or brought to early voting locations during operational hours.
Voters opting to return their ballots by mail are urged to send them no later than October 27 to ensure timely delivery. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by November 3 and received by local election offices no later than November 6 to be counted.
In-person early voting is scheduled to run from October 17 through October 30 ahead of the November 3 state election.
