Nearly half of renters are now spending more than 30 percent of their income on housing. That’s unsustainable, and corporate greed is making it worse.    Right now, private equity firms are buying up single-family residential homes nationwide. Wall Street landlords are charging excessive rents and making it harder for working- and middle-class families to buy homes.   Sign if you agree: We need to protect the American Dream and stop Wall St Landlords. That’s why I’ve introduced the Stop Wall Street Landlords Act, which would ban private equity firms from obtaining loans backed by the Federal Housing Finance Agency and related government entities for the purchase of single-family residential homes.   Putting a roof over one’s head is a basic human right.
