You’re invited to spend an evening with Steven Donziger at our women-led Earth Day fundraiser in Los Angeles!
You’ll hear from Steven and his team about his new campaign to obtain a pardon from President Biden after he was the first person in our history subjected to a corporate prosecution. You also will get our latest swag while enjoying drinks, appetizers, conversations with fellow advocates, and live music!
We also have a surprise special guest: environmental attorney Joel Reynolds, the renowned senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council. Joel will be in conversation with Steven about his work on the landmark Ecuador pollution case and what it means for saving the planet and the survival of our democracy.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 20, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. PT at the home of supporter and environmental champion Sara Nichols in Los Angeles.
Click here to RSVP today → Almost 15 years ago, Steven stood with Amazon communities in Ecuador against Chevron as they won a $10 billion legal case after the company discharged billions of gallons of cancer-causing oil waste on indigenous ancestral lands and waterways. Steven then faced an unthinkable corporate retaliation campaign unprecedented in the history of our country.
Chevron spent millions of dollars to hire dozens of law firms to target Steven. The company took his passport, law license, and bank accounts.
When Steven kept fighting, they orchestrated the nation’s first corporate prosecution on a baseless contempt of court charge and had him locked up for almost three years.
Today, Steven is fighting back and we are helping him.
We’re urging President Biden to pardon Steven so he can continue his fight against Chevron and help the Indigenous peoples of Ecuador secure justice. This battle is a stand for the planet, for indigenous rights, and against corporate oppression.
It’s also about protecting the rights of all advocates to do their work without fear of corporate retaliation. It impacts all of us – and will help determine what kind of society we live in.
Your support makes a huge difference. It enables Steven and our team to mobilize people around the world to force the President to act urgently. Please RSVP now to join us for our women-led Earth Day fundraising in Brentwood, LA →
See you there,
