Happy Valentine's Day!
On this special day, I want you to know that I truly love this big progressive movement and the people like you who push it forward.
Our movement is made up of people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. We all bring unique perspectives and challenges that we face, but what holds us together is our work toward a shared dream: a world where nobody is denied the equity, prosperity, and justice that they deserve. How could you not love a movement like that?
Over the years we’ve stuck together through the worst of it all: the ascendance of Trump and the far-right, January 6th and attacks on our democracy, climate disasters, a deadly pandemic, the stripping of our rights by an extremist, stolen Supreme Court, and much more.
We’ve also been here for each other when it comes time to fight for progress: we beat Trump, we protected the peaceful transfer of power, we brought new progressive voices to Congress, we passed the US’s first real climate legislation, we provided historic aid to recover from COVID-19, and we’ve organized on the ground in our communities to respond to each of these moments. The work is far from over — but it goes to show that we can win when we push together.
So, I hope you’re still as excited about this movement as I am. Because we’re going to continue to need every last one of us to do our part if we want to keep up the fight.
