Let’s talk about countering inflation

 

Our economy is doing great, families are not.

As a single parent, I feel how inflation means families have to stretch their budgets further and further. While Republicans propose we solve inflation by lowering wages and upping taxes for the lowest earners, I see this moment as a chance to tackle the big issues that have been holding families back for years.

We must fight inflation by lowering costs:

• Making healthcare and prescription drugs more affordable. Big Insurance and Big Pharma are making record profits while Americans struggle to pay for the care they need.
• Ensuring families have access to reliable, affordable child care.
• Cracking down on corporate price gouging as corporations like Exxon and Chevron bring in record profits.
• Ensuring there is competition in the marketplace, which is why I’ve advocated against certain airline mergers.
• Manufacturing more technology here in the U.S.
