Joaquin Ciria will be free after 32 years in prison for a crime he did not commit.

Real Justice

I’ve got HUGE news for you, my friends: Thanks to San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin’s Innocence Commission, Joaquin Ciria was just exonerated after 32 YEARS in prison for a crime that he did NOT commit. Now he will be free!!!

It is my understanding that this is the first time in SF DA history that a wrongful conviction has ever been overturned.

History has been made.

THIS is why we do what we do.

THIS is why we fought tooth and nail to elect Chesa in the first place.

THIS is why we need to stand with him – in the face of a corrupt recall campaign based on racism, corporate greed, and Republican billionaire interests.

Please help DA Chesa Boudin free more innocent people like Joaquin Ciria by rejecting the Republican recall. Make your best gift right now, OK?

In 2020, Chesa created an independent, freestanding Innocence Commission alongside a new Post-Conviction Unit to review wrongful convictions and excessive sentences.

That is because he understands that right now, too many innocent brothers and sisters are wrongfully imprisoned for crimes they did not commit.

That is because he remains fiercely committed to justice.

That is why he works tirelessly.

But I am very worried because this critical work is in grave danger.

The best way you can fight back right now is to contribute any resources you can spare so that Chesa can defeat the recall. PLEASE make a contribution here.

The June election will determine not only the future of the SF DA’s office, but also the future of people like Joaquin.

Their LIVES are at stake.

Let’s GO!

Shaun
