Fox News owner bankrolls Republican super PAC

 

Rupert Murdoch is the bazillionaire owner of Fox News — the world’s leading propaganda outlet for right-wing extremism and the cult of Donald Trump.

• We just found out that Murdoch wrote a check for $2,000,000 to the super PAC controlled by allies of Senator Mitch McConnell.

• That wasn’t even the biggest check the McConnell-aligned “outside spending” group got as it raked in $27 million from January to March, boosting its cash reserves to a staggering $72 million.

• And all of this is — bizarrely, sadly, treacherously — legal due to the Supreme Court’s absurd Citizens United ruling from 2010.

We can have real democracy.

Or ...

We can let billionaires and Big Business spend literally as much money as they want bankrolling politicians to do their bidding.
