TELL Congress: An alarming U.S.-Israeli military policy is currently attached to must-pass defense legislation. Bernie Sanders and AOC are pushing to block the provision that calls for the U.S. and Israel to co-produce weapons, coordinate AI tech for war, and sync surveillance data. Israeli PM Netanyahu met with Trump last week to shore up support for Israel's continued atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon, and the disastrous, intractable U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.¹

Israel and lawmakers in Congress are also trying to make the relationship between the U.S. and Israeli militaries irreversible.² A provision of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) calls for the U.S. and Israel to co-produce weapons, coordinate AI tech for war, and meld together the U.S.-Israeli military-industrial complex.³

This AIPAC-backed provision of the NDAA is on the verge of passing.⁴ But last-minute opposition in the Senate and the steadfast advocacy of lawmakers like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders give us a chance to stop it.

The "United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative" in the NDAA is a shadowy attempt to codify unconditional military support for Israel. The provision would eliminate any oversight of U.S. funding, weapons, and intelligence support for Israel's genocidal violence.⁵

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez called the measure an "existential threat to American sovereignty and democracy."⁶

Democratic Senators have stopped the NDAA from passing thus far, in opposition to Trump's war on Iran. Our lawmakers must also join Senators Sanders and Chris Van Hollen and demand the removal of U.S.-Israeli military integration from the NDAA.
