Trump Took Venezuela's Oil. Where's the Money? Marco Rubio went to Congress today and would not say. One Democrat refused to let him dodge it. It also controls the money from Venezuela’s oil. Where is that money going? Nobody will say. It is moving through offshore accounts. There is no public audit. The contracts are secret. Billions in oil revenue, run through hidden accounts, with no one allowed to check the books. That is the story. A captured country’s oil money, controlled by Trump’s people, kept in the dark. Today, Marco Rubio came to Congress to talk about his budget. He did not expect a fight over that money. He got one. The Democrat Who Made Him Squirm Her name is Sydney Kamlager-Dove. She sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. She represents Los Angeles. Today she asked the questions most people in that room were too cautious to ask. Who decides how much oil gets sold? Where does the cash go? Who gets the contracts? Is any of it being audited? Rubio did not bring answers. He brought talking points. He called her facts false. He did not produce a single audit. She told him his credibility was running on empty. She reminded him that he shut down USAID over contracts with no transparency. Practice what you preach, she told him. He tried to talk over her. She would not hand him the floor to spin. When her time ran out and the real answers still had not come, she stood up and walked out. He mocked her for leaving. Of course he did.
