A Wannabe MAGA Congressman Says Americans' Pain Is "Worth It"

Jay Feely has never held office. But he already looked at struggling Arizona families and told them to suck it up. Rick McCartney is the man who can end him.

Families across the district were hurting. Jay Feely looked right at them and said their pain was “worth it.”

He actually said that. Out loud. On television. On the record.

And here is the kicker: this man has never held office in his life. He kicked footballs in the NFL. Then he sat on TV and talked about football.

Never city council. Never school board. Never anything. He has not earned one ounce of the power he is chasing.

But he has already told everyone exactly how he would use it.

Wait. He Said What?

When Trump’s war sent prices climbing, Feely did not flinch for one second.

He went on television and defended the whole thing. He said the world was better for it. He said it while regular people were getting squeezed.

Then he went further. He said people just need to trust Trump, because the president is “playing the long game.” The war. The pain at home. All of it, he said, will “be worth it in the end.”

Worth it.

Easy for him to say. He is a rich, famous ex-athlete chasing a promotion. He is not the mom doing the math at the kitchen table, wondering how she covers this month. He looked at her and said: be patient. Trust Trump. It is worth it.

That is who wants this seat.

And Here’s the Scary Part

It gets worse, because that was not a one-time slip. That is the entire plan.

Feely has no record of his own. No bills. No votes. Nothing he has ever built. So he is not even pretending to have ideas. He flat out admitted his “primary focus” is keeping the Republican majority in power.

Not the people of the district. The majority.

He wants to walk into Congress as a human rubber stamp. Whatever Trump wants, he votes yes. The war, the cuts, the next thing, the thing after that. He has said he would defend the team no matter what. Believe him.

Washington Republicans heard all this and loved it. They put him on their special list of favorites to fund. Of course they did. He is exactly the empty suit they were hoping for.

Now Meet the Man Who Scares Them

His name is Rick McCartney, and he is everything Feely is not.

He never went on TV begging for a promotion. He put his head down and did the work. He built a company in Arizona that gave small local businesses a voice, the little guys nobody powerful ever bothers to call.

Then he did the kind of work that does not get applause. He ran the county workforce board. That is the group that trains people for real jobs. Because of work he led, thousands of people, real families, got the skills to build a real career. Thousands.

He has spent years on the stuff that actually changes lives. Job training. Early childhood programs. Teaching people how to handle their money. Mentoring kids who are growing up with nothing, in the state he has loved since he was a boy.

Nobody had to point him at a district. He is running where he lives, for the place that made him. He does not want the seat. He wants the job.

Why It Has to Be Now

This is one of the most fought-over House seats in the entire country. A true toss-up. The kind of seat that decides who runs Congress.

That is exactly why the other side is trying to hand it to a famous face who will do as he is told. They think a jersey and a Trump phone call are enough. They are betting nobody is watching.

And here is what makes this seat different. This district is one of Trump’s biggest fundraising strongholds in the entire country. It is where the MAGA money machine goes to refill. If a grassroots campaign can out-raise that machine right here, on its home turf, it sends a message to Republicans everywhere: the billionaire donors cannot shield them from what voters think of their extreme agenda.

That is the whole game, and it is happening fast. The primary is July 21. That is barely five weeks away. A race this fast is not won by the most famous name. It is won by whoever gets real people moving first, and the first dollars are the ones that prove this can be done.

Wait until July and it is over. The window to send that message is right now.

Rick McCartney does not have a famous name or a billionaire's checkbook. He has something better. He has the truth, a real record, and people who are done being told their pain is “worth it.”
