HEAR ME WHEN I SAY THIS: Last night I got a phone call from a good friend of mine because his son is about to deploy and he’s scared. As someone who spent 24 years serving in the United States Army and deployed multiple times to the Middle East, here’s the truth — he should be. Because Donald Trump just put our troops into an unconstitutional war with Iran where we have NO allies and he has NO idea what that means. My team says we’re about $12,000 short of our fundraising goal this week, so if you believe Congress needs more leaders who actually understand the cost of war, chip in $9, $20, or whatever you can right now to help me take down Trump and his blood thirsty toy soldiers. I’ve buried friends who wore this nation’s uniform alongside me. I have 13 names of my brothers that never made it home tattooed on my back, so believe me when I say: I know the cost of war. And when I hear fathers worrying about their sons being sent into another reckless war, it physically makes me ill. It makes my blood boil to watch politicians sit in their cushy Washington offices beating the drums of war while military families here at home carry the consequences. Donald Trump doesn’t give a shit about our troops. Last week, a fallen soldier was returning home in a flag-draped casket because of Trump’s illegal war. He had the gall to show up for the cameras, snap a few photos and use the moment to rake in millions for MAGA and his blood thirsty bootlickers. And now we’re watching the consequences of his piss poor leadership play out in real time — You don’t bomb a friggin’ school, kill 170 children, and then shrug your shoulders and blame it on “bad data” and “old maps.” That’s bullshit. My digital team says that if every supporter reading this email can chip in to our campaign, we will raise the last $12,000 we need within minutes and you can send someone to Congress who has actually worn this nation’s uniform, instead of another politician playing Call of Duty with our United States Military.
