IN OTHER WORDS, MEDICARE PROVIDERS WILL BE FORCED TO CEASE

PLEASE SUPPORT JIM MCGOVERN AS HE SPEAKS OUT AGAINST THIS

MAGA MONSTER THAT MAKES TAX CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY PERMANENT,

BUT CREATES ENDLESS DEFICITS!

They did it.

For more than 20 hours straight — from 1 AM until nearly 9 PM — Jim led a fierce Democratic resistance in the Rules Committee, fighting to stop Republicans' Big, Beautiful, Bloated, Barbaric Bill. He worked through over 500 amendments, exposing the cruelty and greed buried in the GOP's 1,100-page manifesto. But in the end, they squeaked it through — by just one vote.

Right now, we're working to expose just how sinister this piece of legislation is. It steals trillions from the most vulnerable, guts Medicaid, and slashes SNAP benefits that help 41 million Americans put food on the table. The average SNAP benefit is about $2 per person per meal, and Republicans are hellbent on taking that away — just so billionaires like Elon Musk can get another tax break.

This isn't about "waste, fraud, and abuse." It's not about deficits. It's about cruelty and greed — a punishment for being poor, a reward for being rich. Jim knows that, and he's going to keep fighting every step of the way. But he can't do it alone.

If you're with us, chip in $15 before tonight's May fundraising deadline. Together, we can ensure Jim has the resources he needs to keep standing up for justice, common sense, and working people — because millions of lives are on the line.

This piece of legislation and the incredibly narrow margin it passed with underscores how important it is that we reclaim the House in 2026. These votes matter, these seats matter, and the resources we pull together right now matter.

In solidarity,

Team McGovern

SEECPAC (Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition Political Action Committee) included this in an article they shared:

They don’t even know what they voted for

The following is a direct quote from a Republican Congressmember:

“I am not going to hide the truth, this provision was unknown to me when I voted for that.”

That’s what Rep. Flood said at a town hall when his constituents confronted him about what was in the “big, beautiful bill.” One thing is clear: House Republicans don’t know what they voted for, and they hoped the public wouldn’t catch on, either – which is why they had waited until the dead of night to push their megabill forward.

But here at SEEC PAC, we believe that Americans deserve to be informed about what’s in the reconciliation package that’s on its way to the Senate, including:

  • Giving polluters “get out of jail free cards” by letting companies pay for legal immunity for environmental reviews.

  • Slapping a fine on protests filed against oil and gas leases, muzzling dissent and pro-conservation civic engagement.

  • Locking up 4 million acres for coal mining, despite coal making less and less economic sense (let alone being terrible for the environment).

  • Eliminating protections for endangered species who are vulnerable to offshore oil and gas operations, dooming our planet’s most endangered whale to extinction.

  • Raising household energy costs while handing out tax breaks to billionaires and big polluters.

  • Killing good-paying clean energy and manufacturing jobs by defunding innovation and industrial modernization.

  • Demolishing incentives for electric vehicles, advanced manufacturing, and zero-emission energy.

The Most Important Part of this Campaign

I took a step back talking to my team the other day. I was close to deleting a picture, not realizing this is the point of my U.S. Senate ...
