Donald Trump and his billionaire allies like Elon Musk want to break up and sell off the Postal Service, one of America’s most trusted public institutions, to the highest bidder. Wall Street is already licking its lips.
They don’t care that veterans won’t get medications on time. That seniors will pay more just to get mail and packages. Or that the most rural areas including hundreds of Indigenous communities will be left behind, without access to affordable postal services.
Wall Street sees profit margins. We see people. And we refuse to let them win.
FedEx and UPS already slap surcharges on 62% of ZIP codes. And if the USPS is privatized, these hidden fees will skyrocket, with working-class families, rural communities, and small towns left paying the price.
Now, the USPS Board of Governors has installed Donald Trump’s pick as the next Postmaster General: FedEx’s David Steiner.
That’s right, Steiner currently serves on the FedEx board, holds 34,438 shares of FedEx common stock, currently worth $7.4 million, and owns FedEx stock options worth millions more. Now, he’s set to hold the top position at the United States Postal Service where he can sabotage from within and fast-track Trump’s privatization plans.
We must stop him. Contribute whatever you can – $5, $25, $2500 – whatever you can afford and rush the resources we need to protect the post office now.
This is terrible news, but this fight isn’t over. Not even close.
Thanks to public outcry and our relentless coalition organizing, Trump’s original privatization plan was an executive order to fire the Postal Board and move the agency under the control of the Commerce Department and we stopped it dead in its tracks.
Now, we’ve delivered over 300,000 letters to Congress demanding they pass H.Res.70 and S.Res.147 to block privatization. With over 200 co-sponsors, we have bipartisan support from Republicans representing dark red districts to Democrats in dark blue ones and everywhere in between.
The only way to kill Trump’s privatization plan for good is to keep applying pressure.
Rush a donation to help us crush Trump’s privatization plan and keep the Postal Service public, protected, and powerful for every ZIP code in America now.
We will succeed, but only if we don’t give up. Thank you for being a critical part of this team.

Thanks to reporting by The Washington Post, we found out with almost no time to mobilize that the USPS Board of Governors was considering installing FedEx official David Steiner as the next Postmaster General.
Our nationwide network immediately took action, sending an incredible 22,277 direct messages to the postal board in less than 24 hours. Thank you.
Unfortunately, we still have to deal with the reality of a FedEx guy running USPS:

According to the most recent FedEx proxy statement, Steiner holds 34,438 shares of FedEx common stock, currently worth $7.4 million. He also owns FedEx stock options worth millions more. Put another way: he has a monetary interest in slowing or destroying the Postal Service.
We can’t sugarcoat it. This is worse than when Trump installed DeJoy, much worse. DeJoy was a disaster, but at least he wasn’t on the board of a company that would actively profit from USPS’s destruction. Installing Steiner opens the door for corporate sabotage from within, handing control of one of our most beloved public institutions over to someone whose financial interests are directly opposed to the USPS’s success.
This is a disaster, but we can’t give up. Instead, we must redouble our efforts and fight to win. We often stopped the worst impacts of Louis DeJoy’s failed leadership, we can – and will – do it again. But we need your support in this fight. Please rush a contribution now.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately:
This fight isn’t over. We will not let the Trump administration, FedEx, or the postal board of governors privatize the post office. Not now. Not ever.
Rush a contribution to fund our work leading the Save the Post Office Coalition and together we’ll stop Trump’s privatization plan now.
